What is "defered DDL execution" on OnDemand
« on: February 25, 2016, 09:09:50 AM »
Hi

I got this question.
"Is deferred DDL execution is enabled on Content manager OnDemand on Mainframe DB2"

Does anyone know how and where to check if it is enabled?

Hello Marthin -

The short answer is there is no "deferred DDL execution" in Content Manager OnDemand.

The longer answer is there are two products marketed by IBM that unfortunately have similar names:

- Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD)

- Content Manager (CM)

(Side note - if I ever find out who is responsible for naming these two products so similarly I'm going to beat them with a stick.)

But I digress...

CM has what's known as "deferred DDL execution."

CMOD doesn't.

Thanks Ed

I actually did look around, but only found articles about ContentManager using "deferred DDL".
I am now sure, that the one who asked also got confused about the names.

So please give couple of hits from me to, if you find them :-)
