OAM CMOD object recovery problem
« on: December 21, 2011, 09:40:12 AM »
This command failed for me:

F OAM,START,OBJRECV,IODC.RC2920P1.SGROUP04.MC4DT07D,
RC2920P1.V03.Y2010.D0131.T171657.S616150,BACKUP1

failed with invalid systax.      I am getting multiple trouble tickets for failed,
and object recovery is what is required to repair them.  But they are not working.

My SoftwareExcel contract is influx but expired.

Can anyone offer a little expertise to recover the bad objects ?

Do a google on OAM OBJRECV - first hit is "Starting the OAM Volume Recovery Utility"

Object recovery completed successfully for the volume that the object was on, but the error persisted.

Will look into this again on Tuesday, Jan 3.

It turns out the recovery command in z/OS 1.9 cannot use  a line continuation, but must have the line eentered using all text positions.

One object recovered, while the other did not.

Now, unable to connect to the trouble ticket system.  I am re-directed to an Entitlement Request page.
