iSeries / Is there an alternative to iNav for creating Storage Set
« on: December 04, 2020, 02:47:21 PM »
If I do not have access to a web browser and iNav, is there any alternative way to create the initial Disk Pool and Storage Set/Migration Policy needed when creating a new OnDemand Instance.  I looked at ARSXML but there does not seem to be an option for creating these.  Am I missing something or are there any other options?  Using OnDemand for iSeries v.7.4.

Thanks,
Joe

I am trying to implement the OnDemand Client Related Documents feature as referenced:
https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSEPCD_10.5.0/com.ibm.ondemand.winclient.doc/dodwc266.htm
and
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21009643

I am trying to use with OnDemand Client v.10.5 32-bit.  Has anyone successfully implemented this?

Here is the text from two attempts at the Imported/Exported Registry entry:
The only difference is the path of the Registry key.
I tried installing both keys in the 2 different locations. After entering the Folders= path or performing a search or displaying a document,  I do not see the option or the icon for Related docs.  Does anyone see what I'm doing wrong?

Actual registry keys are also attached.

Report Indexing / Is _*FINDONCE*_ Supported with the PDF Indexer
« on: July 23, 2020, 08:54:15 AM »
I am trying to define the ReportTime as printed on the first page of a PDF report as an index key.  The issue is that the time can change from one page to the next within the same PDF report. This causes segmentation within the report each time the ReportTime value changes.  I want to store one report segment, containing all of the pages together, in OnDemand.

In the OS/400 indexer there is a feature (DEFAULT='_*FINDONCE*_').  I tried adding this to the PDF Application configuration using the Manual approach and it had no effect. Maybe my syntax was incorrect.  Has anyone successfully used this with the PDF Indexer?
Or, Is there an equivalent way within the the PDF Indexer to read the index key value from ONLY the first occurrence within each PDF file?

Thanks,
Joe

As part of a routine OnDemand system move and version upgrade the additional requirement is to move the IFS archived objects from the system ASP01 to an Encrypted User ASP (take advantage of encryption at rest of the disk drives of IBM i systems using 57XX-SS1 Option 45 – Encrypted ASP Enablement, where you end up with an unencrypted system ASP 1 and an encrypted ASP). In this case, the system ASP on the new system has been intentionally created very small, as all user objects should be stored in the encrypted ASP02.

Is this possible?  Are there documented steps anywhere to use as a guide?

Thanks,
Joe

Windows Client / Use of ARSOLE.OCX
« on: December 05, 2019, 11:33:47 AM »
I am considering an integration with the OnDemand Client v.10.1 using the ARSOLE.OCX Controls.  I was wondering if there are many users who have already implemented this interface and if anyone can share their implementation experience.  Specifically, we are looking at the VB interface.

Thanks,
Joe

How do determine whether the 32 bit or the 64 bit version of the OnDemand Client is installed on the PC? I do not see it listed in the Help, About screen, where I would expect it.

Thanks,
Joe

iSeries / FNDRPTOND always returns message 'FOLDER xxxxxxxx NOT FOUND
« on: October 10, 2019, 01:16:21 PM »
I am trying to implement the FNDKEYOND command from a 5250 session to the OnDemand Client for which I have launched and logged onto the QRLROCD.EXE app on the PC.  I am using a system admin OnDemand account.

I can use the app to successfully open, search and retrieve from the any of the defined Folders.

However, no matter which Folder I specify in my FNDKEYOND API call, the 5250 sessions says that my retrieval request has been transferred to the OnDemand client viewer program.  BUT, I get a message from qrlrocd saying "FOLDER xxxxxx NOT FOUND"  with an OK button and no added details or logs.
The xxxxxxx is the exact name of the folder that I specified in the FNDKEYOND command, so the folder name appears to be getting down to the client

Example:
FNDKEYOND FOLDER('System Log') KEYFLD((MSG_NUM *EQ 30))

Message from qrlrocd is: FOLDER System Log NOT FOUND
It does not even find the System Log.  Is there piece of setup that I am missing?  Or has anyone encountered this issue?
I am running server version 10.1.0.5 with a v.10.1 client.

Report Indexing / Kofax Export of PDF Files Not Viewable in PDF Viewer
« on: October 04, 2019, 08:48:38 AM »
I have a Kofax Capture system configured with the old Kofax Export to OnDemand v.5 export script. I have Kofax PDF Generator configured to convert the scanned documents to PDF.
I have OnDemand App Group and App configured to accept PDF files.
The Export module successfully exports the combination of .ARD, .IND, and .OUT files to the OnDemand server for loading.
The files successfully index to OnDemand.

The issue is on display from OnDemand Client. The files launch in my Adobe PDF Viewer on the PC but they give an ERROR saying that the files are damaged.

I have attached one set of files with this issue, .ARD, .IND and .OUT file.  Remove the .TXT added to the end of each needed for attachment.

The Export module combines the PDF files from the Kofax Batch to a single .OUT file.  The OnDemand Load program is dividing the .OUT file back into multiple files based on the OFFSET and LENGTH specified for each document in the .IND file.

Has anyone bumped into this scenario? Does anyone have any idea what I could try differently or have a work around.

Windows Client / Can ALL error messages be Suppressed
« on: September 03, 2019, 08:53:51 AM »
With OnDemand thick Client v.10 is there a way to configure the application to suppress (not display) messages when a document is selected for display from the hit list.  For example, missing FONT error messages.  There is nothing that we want to do to fix the issue. We are OK with the way the document displays. We just do not want to have to see or respond to the messages that pop every time a document is selected.

Is there a setup or configuration option I am missing that will suppress all messages?

Thanks,
Joe

I have a need to load a large number of files that are located on one iSeries IFS directory (SystemA) into an OnDemand iSeries Instance running on another iSeries Server on the same network (SystemB).  When I create the Generic Indexer .IND files on SystemB, can I specify a GROUP_FILENAME path similar to:

GROUP_FILENAME:/QNTC/SystemA/ShareName/Directory/.../ObjectName

Has anyone tried this or tested to see if this works?  If so, any advice? Is performance an issue?

Thanks,

iSeries / Is Retrieval preview User Exit available on the iSeries?
« on: July 02, 2019, 10:54:52 AM »
I see references in the Multiplatform and Z platform documentation to the Client Preview User Exit.  I can not find similar documentation in the System i platform documentation.  Is this User Exit supported on the System i implementation of CMOD?  If so, can someone point me to the documentation for this exit?  Are there examples included with the product? If not, does anyone have a working sample code they could share?

I have an interest in trying to do some customized redaction on some OnDemand archived documents.

Thanks,
Joe

iSeries / Errors with ARSLOAD of OLD AFP Documents
« on: February 08, 2018, 09:34:14 AM »
I am getting errors I was not expecting with ARSLOAD.  Using iSeries v.7.3 with server v.10.1.0.2.

Background.  I used ARSDOC GET API to create a .OUT and .IND file with 1,065 old files from 2002 that had been loaded to an Application defined as TIF viewing.  They are not viewable as TIF. I think they are MO:DCA that came from CM iSeries.  So.

When I try to reload to a new Application defined to use the AFP Viewer I get the following error:
####################
ARS4312I Loading started, 131229818 bytes to process
ARS1199W The .ind file CCSID 0 does not match the CODEPAGE:1208 value specified in the .ind file.  A
le CCSID and the CODEPAGE:value might cause the load to fail.
ARS1134E Invalid structured field header in the file /home/JWOLKEN/EXP2002.0.CLAIM.CLAIM.out
ARS1146I Loaded 0 rows into the database
ARS4311E Loading failed
ARS4318E Processing failed for file >/home/JWOLKEN/EXP2002.0.CLAIM.CLAIM<
ARS4327E Processing has stopped.  The remaining files will NOT be processed.
########################################################
From the internet it looks like OnDemand does extra format checking of AFP documents and these files to have the right X'05' codes embedded.

Then, I try recreating the Application with Viewer = User-Defined and Extension = AFP.
I get an error, ARS2219I, that is not even defined in the OnDemand v.7.3 Messages and Codes Guide.

Has anyone tried similar activity or come upon similar errors with ARSLOAD?  Any advice or guidance would be appreciated.

iSeries / ARSLOAD Getting ARS4305E Error
« on: February 07, 2018, 12:15:08 PM »
I used the ARSDOC Get command to successfully create my .OUT and .IND files that I now want to Load into a new Application Group on the same Instance.
EXP2002.0.CLAIM.CLAIM.ind
EXP2002.0.CLAIM.CLAIM.out

I reviewed the .IND file and it appears to have properly formatted index data.

I make sure the .OUT and .IND files are in my QSH home directory.

I am running the following command:
arsload -h QUSROND -v -f -n -g CLAIM_AFP -a CLAIM_AFP -s EXP2002.0.CLAIM.CLAIM

I get the error: "ARS4305E Generic Indexer requires the data to have already been indexed. Index the data or verify your input file and resubmit the job."

It is as if the ARSLOAD command can not find my IND file.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue or be able to offer advice?

Thanks,

MP Server / Using ARSDOC Get to Retrieve PDF files to a Single file
« on: September 14, 2017, 09:56:57 AM »
I am working on an AIX v.9.0 system.  I have lots of PDF files in a Folder.  I have a Named Query to retrieve a subset.  I want to retrieve all of the PDF files to my server. Ideally, I'd like all of the single page PDF files concatenated into 1 large PDF file.  Is this possible?  I am using the following command:

./arsdoc get –v –c –f RSC_SCI_OLPNCTNDTL –h cmod –u CMOD –p /opt/IBM/ondemand/V9.0/config/ars.stash –q STORE103 -o /STORE103

The command performs the query successfully, but generates an error retrieving or building the file.  Do I have my parms wrong?  Any suggestions or sample code would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe

Report Indexing / ARSLOAD Syntax for Using File Name to Index
« on: June 21, 2017, 03:41:56 PM »
I have a CMOD AIX v.9.0.0 server test system.

I am trying to load a PDF file with the following file name:

CUSTOMS.2061509336.006-26629385.231-3459008-7.E063483589.pdf

I am trying to use the following ARSLOAD command:

./arsload -v -I ondt -d /ondemand/monitor/customs –b “1,EXPEDITORNO” -b "2,AWBBLNO" -b "3,CUSTOMSNO" -b "4,INVOICENO" –B “AG.1FLD.2FLD.3FLD.4FLD” -u ondt -p /opt/IBM/ondemand/V9.0/config/ars.stash

The command successfully finds the file in the directory and tries to process it.

My App Group and Application are both called CUSTOMS.  I have four index fields in the App Group that match the -b parameters.  I've tried different variations of the -B parm but continue to get errors. Either ARS4331E or it tries to match the second part of the name to the App Group and fails, adding the .FAILED extension on the file.

From this information, can someone help me define this command properly?  Maybe it is my incorrect use of the -B parm?

Thanks,
Joe
