Report Indexing / Adobe Acrobat Pro
« on: October 10, 2022, 04:08:03 AM »
Hello, when attempting to run the Report Wizard it appears it only works with Adobe Acrobat PRO to be installed on the PC.  We did have it at one time but the corporation no longer is letting it be installed on laptops.  Does anyone know of a workaround to get the Report Wizard to work without have Adobe Acrobat Pro??

Report Indexing / Re: Posting date issue

Not to get too wordy (lol) but with this data its was actually on the old Ondemand mainframe system(RDARS) and is no longer retrievable due to an OS upgrade on the mainframe.  IBM was contracted out to pull /extract the data (not sure how) and load it to CMOD using ACIF.  When we ran into this issue, there was an existing old OS390 definition for this report.  IBM was able to use that method to get the data loaded into CMOD 10.1.0.5.    Before we realized that would work we were just trying to see if we could get the ACIF indexer to work.

Greg,

No its not....The date we were trying to use from 1st page moves to different lines on other pages.  And then there are pages that have THROUGH (09/01/2009  THROUGH  09/30/2009) and of course it line up at all with the single date pages.

Report Indexing / Posting date issue
« on: September 28, 2022, 05:51:29 AM »
Hello,

We currently are attempting to load a report that in itself contains different reports.  So the data isn't consistent at all.  The issue we have run into is trying to pull a date off the data for the POSTING DATE.  Its on every  PAGE 1 so we attempted to use PAGE 1 as a trigger then go down and get the date.  Unfortunately the date itself isnt always in the same position.  Most page just have the date (EX JULY 31, 2009), but other page have a range (July 01.2009 thru July 31, 2009).  When it hits those pages it errors.  Is there a way, using ACIF indexer to only use the FIRST page to pull the POSTING DATE? This is a mainframe data file we are ingesting.

MP Server / Re: Converting mainframe Hex character
« on: July 24, 2022, 04:10:10 AM »
Justin,

Apologize for the late response.   The issue we found was, On Windows and mainframe, X’4F’ displays as a pipe symbol.  On Linux, x’6A’ displays a pipe symbol.   The submitter of the data decided on using x’5E’ which is a ; (semicolon) on the output.  We did give them another option, x'BB' which did display in CMOD as and "|".   But since they were the ones updating the datafile, we left the decision up to them!!   As always, thank you, and everyone, for their replies!!   Take care.   Dave

Hi,

We have a mainframe file loading to CMOD.  One of the mainframe characters is a | character (x'4F') .  When the file is loaded into CMOD, the character is converted to an ! character.   Does anyone know why this would be happening??

Thanks to everyone for their input.  Like I'm sure most of you have run into, allot of the times the requestor isn't always totally aware of their data!   What we ended up doing is renaming the existing  AppGrp/App setups to different names.  We had to keep them because of previous loaded data to them.  We then created new definitions under the original names increasing the field length on the field causing the issue.

Thanks...We had JUST recreated a new APP GRP because of another index field they wanted to increase the size of.  Hate you cant just go in to the current APP GRP and increase fields lengths on the fly

Report Indexing / Bad Character in data file

We have a file coming in that has a special character (A with a squiggly line above it) on an index field.  When this character is on the data it causes the file to fail (see below).  Once we edit the file and simply replace the A that had the line above it with a normal A, the file loads.  Has anyone else had issues with special characters and loading?

Row 2776:  The string "BWATER PURE AL TRD CO LTD  HSBCUS" has a length of 38 and the field has a maximum length of 37

Windows Client / Re: Duplicate ids

Justin,

For some reason its not allowing me to add attachment.  Will tell you the users were added at different dates by different Administrators.  We did check and they both had unique UIDS associated with them.  What we really odd is, when we would go under UPDATE and attempt to even look at anything on the setups it would then tell you, "User id or UID already exists"...only thing we could do is delete one of them.

Hello,

We recently have seen an issue where the system is allowing us to add an id to the database that is already defined.  In the past when we would try and do this, we'd get a message indicating "the user id or UID already exists".  Once the duplicate id is added, we cant do any changes to either id other than a delete.  It also wont allow the user to access their reports.  We are running CMOD ADMIN version 10.1.0.5

Darrell,  yep, if the group access isn't copied over does us no good....Hence doing a manual copy from existing id so we can copy the existing access over to the new LDAP user id.  We can have 4 of us doing it but the issue was doing that way running into existing UID error.  But of we manually assign the UID when adding and assign unique ones so there are no dups, we can do it that way....Just not a fan of doing anything manually if at all possible.
