MP Server / Cache Storage on new drive
« on: September 22, 2017, 03:20:37 PM »
Hello,
I´ve migrated OnDemand from one Windows server to another.
The problem is that, as cache storage has the same structure on the new server, but on a different drive letter (D:\ instead of f:\), documents cannot be accessed… Can I fix path or change drive letter somewhere in Database or OnDemand configuration?
Thank you!

MP Server / Move Ondemand 8.5 to a new server
« on: August 09, 2017, 08:54:09 AM »
Moving OnDemand 8.5.0.5 to a new windows server. The new server is a clon of the original. Just different hostname and different OnDemand administrator name

OnDemand database starts ok on the new server after reinstalling DB2 (DB2 9.7). The fact is that the new server has an OnDemand administrator with a different name... So should move the database to a new schema, is it? What would be the best way?

thank you!

MP Server / Re: Cache retrieval after migrating to different instance
« on: August 15, 2012, 02:15:25 PM »
Hi,
Thank you for your suggestions.

In the end, migration has to be made to an instance with the SAME name as the old one.

This is lab's answer to PMR 11685,000,613:
1) If you have named your instance differently, you can not restore the cache to the new instance.  This kind of a procedure would require the involvement of IBM Services(Fee based service).  CMOD support would only provide assistance if you are restoring to the same instance and database name.
2) The links restored would also use the old instance name and can not be changed to the new instance name unless you are willing to reload all of the data.   Creating symbolic links is out of scope of IBM CMOD support and would need to be addressed by IBM Services (fee based service)
If you rename your instance to the old name, it will be easier to make this work.

regards!
Gabriela

MP Server / Cache retrieval after migrating to different instance
« on: July 20, 2012, 09:11:15 AM »
Hi,
I have migrated an OnDemand 8.4.1 server to 8.5.0.5 on a new machine (both windows)
Installed the product on new machine, backup & restore, updated indexes as documented, and Ondemand started up fine.

The fact, is that new instance name is different from the old one; therefore Ondemand doesn?t find cache when trying to retrieve the documents, as it is trying to fetch ?\cache\<old instance name>

Where does OnDemand look for the instance name, ? guess it should be in some db2 table, but I cannot find where?

Thanks in advance for your help.

MP Server / Services Startup User
« on: September 08, 2010, 12:45:44 PM »
Can I change the user to startup Ondemand Services in Windows?
Will an administrator user (not the one the product has been installed with), with the same policies enabled, be able to startup OnDemand services?

thanks in advance,

Thanks, Alessandro, but I don?t get the ip address in the system log. Although, I need the hostname because ip addresses are dynamic.
We are just using the client to connect

MP Server / System Log User Exit

I need to show in the system log the hostname of each user that connects to OnDemand. Think it would be fine as the accounting information as it doesn?t have any information now.
Has anybody done something similar?
Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Can OnDemand be installed on a windows server with an SQL Server running?
Do you know if there are compatibility issues?
Thanks!
