Title: Spoolfile content partly going to different application groups
Post by: Michel de Kraker on May 06, 2015, 01:05:43 AM
Hello All,

I have a request from the business regarding loading a spoolfile into ondemand.

These spoolfiles contains information about invoices. All invoices have different branchcodes. Depending on the branchcode they want it to load into different application groups. So i receive 1 spoolfile with all information contained in that file.

But in my opinion they should deliver the spoolfiles already preselected with the branch code (so several spoolfiles) . I think that ondemand should only be used for archiving the original spoolfiles directly into ondemand, without examining the spoolfiles for selection to different applications.

Any thoughts or experience on this?

Thank you,

Kind regards,

Michel.

Not sure what their motivation is, but if they want to keep data separate, they can load it into the same Application Group, with different Applications, and use the query restriction to keep different groups from seeing other branches documents.  (ie, Branch ABC123 has a "where Branch like 'ABC123'" restriction in the group, and different groups can only see their own branches).

But yes, if they want the reports in different Application Groups, then they need separate spool files.
