Content Navigator / ICN Installation

Goodday all

I am trying to setup ICN. When creating the ICN database the documentation suggest to use the sql scripts in the /opt/IBM/ECMCLIENT/configure/db2scripts/db2/modified directory , but there is no modified directorie.

What am I missing here?

Hi All

I need to setup ICN at my customer due to the fact i am upgrading from CMOD 8.5.0.6 to CMOD 10.1
I was wondering about your ICN installations and how you have set this up? ICN on the same server as CMOD or is this asking for trouble ?
I have 3 CMOD environments, PROD / QA and DEV
1 ICN system connected to all these 3 CmoD environments?
Can this ICN be on Linux?


My CMOD environment will be:

AIX 7.1
CMOD 10.1
Content Collector for SAP 4.0
ICN

I have found documentation on IBM Website regarding configuration/installation of ICN.
I do not like the documentation setup. I am used to have redbooks for this , does someone know if a redbook or similar exists?

OD/WEK & JAVA API / ODWEK java api

Hi All

Currently I am using arswww.cgi , but deprecated in CMOD 10.1. So now I have to use the ODWEK Java API. In my opinion the IBM documentation is not that great. But maybe it is just me :-)

Is there somewhere a step-by-step document on how to deploy the ODWEK JAVA API? and the SW requirements ?

MP Server / ICC SAP with CMOD 10.1

Hi All

Is someone having a working environment with ICC SAP 4.0 in combination with CMOD 10.1?

I am having issues with this setup. When starting ICC SAP it will not logon to CMOD (which it should :-) )
In my production environment I have ICC SAP 2.2 with CMOD 8.5 working without any issues.

I am suspecting SSL certificaties on both ICC SAP and CMOD which are causing issues.

Anyone having any thoughts on this?

MP Server / Issue with CMOD 10.1 and Content Collector for SAP 4.0

Hi all

While starting archpro process I get the following error:

CSS0326E: ArchPro is informed that OD agent 12779662 has failed in checking the archive servers.

In the tracefile I see:

clientod.c          [ 3185]: do_InitOD(): OnDemand DLL could not been loaded, because error 1 -> RC is set to CS_RC_OD_ERROR (-262)

Messages Guide gives no hint.

Anybody has an idea?

Question about the new feature in CMOD 10.1 , cloud storage. Are there migration tools or something else available for moving all nodes in Spectrum Protect to this Cloud Storage?

Windows Client / Issue with viewing PDFs

I have an issue with viewing PDFs.
PDF file is correctly archived to ondemand.

When viewing the file from the ondemand client it does not correctly show the pdf file. Instead it is showing rubbish.

My application is setup with Data Type user defined and Fileextension is PDF.
So I would expect it to start the adobe reader application.

When I look into :

IBM\Ondemand Client\Data directory I see it has created a file with pdf extension , so this is ok.
When I click on the file in the DATA Directory it is starting adobe reader and shows the document OK.

But in my situation it is showing rubbish in the ondemand client.

Any ideas?

MP Server / Backup DB2 of library server to TSM archiving server?

Hi All

Is anybody using this backup solution?

CMOD Library DB2 database backupped (including archive logs) to TSM Object server?

Or is this is really bad idea? Since this TSM Server is officially an archiving solution.
Does it breach any IBM support agreement or something else?

Was wondering how you all make your backups of the OnDemand db2 database. (on AIX/Linux)
Is this online or offline? And are you using the arsdb command for this or do you use the db2 backup command?

MP Server / copying part of AGs to new server

Goodday all,

March 1st 2017  i copied an entire production CMOD Environment (db2 and tsm stgpool) to another system for testing purposes etc.
Now i want to migrate all documents loaded since March 1st 2017 in the production environment , to the test server to have it uptodate again.

I was thinking about arsadmin retrieve (production server) and then arsadmin store (test environment). Is this a working solution or are there any other ideas for this? Maybe via arsxml ?

MP Server / question regarding Application Groups in multiple folders

Goodday all.

I have an action where i need to delete data from Content Manager OnDemand.
I want to delete complete folders. But i know for sure that i have multiple folders with the same AG mapped.
So when i delete a folder , it can wipe out the complete AG ?

I want to make a DB2 query which shows me this relationships between AG's en Folders. Possibly with some kind of join between 2 tables?
I have recognized several ondemand tables beginning with ARS..... but i cannot find 1 table with all my desired information in that.

Showing this from the adminstrator is also no option for me because i have around 500 Folders and 900 Application Groups

Is there someone who already have done this kind of db2 query and want to share this with me?

Windows Client / Issue with printing selected documents

All,

I have a problem with printing from the ondemand client. When i have in the hitlist several lines selected,  and press print selected documents, nothing is being printed. The documents are PDF format.

Anybody has an idea or has same experience?

Windows Client / PDF question

Hi All

I used adobe acrobat to create PDF applications in cmod (with sample data in tab indexer information)
But now i have to use CutePDF pro for this. But i cannot get it working.
Does anybody have any experience with any non Adobe Acrobat PDF software to get it working together with cmod?
