MP Server / Re: AWS S3 configuration with third party S3
« on: April 23, 2020, 04:29:33 AM »
We are using EMC ECS via S3 for compliant (SEC 17a-4) storage.  We do not use show doc location.

Is using some type of WORM storage for the docs enough for SEC 17a-4?  Doesn't the metadata also need to be immutable?  You couldn't really do a WORM tablespace so anyone with access to the DB could delete records.  And what about making all of the ars tables immutable?  Couldn't changes to the app, appgroup, or storage make the documents unretrievable.

OD/WEK & JAVA API / GetLocaleDir Failed
« on: June 13, 2016, 08:04:45 AM »
I have not been able to figure out the below error:

com.ibm.edms.od.ODException: GetLocaleDir Failed
       at com.ibm.edms.od.ODServer.initialize
(ODServer.java:150)

My code (seen below) used to run fine, but I have had to move from my laptop to a VDI and I have not been able to get it to run on there.

      ODConfig uat = new ODConfig(null,               // AfpViewer
                           null,                      // LineViewer
                           null,                      // MetaViewer
                           500000,                    // MaxHits
                           null,                      // AppletDir
                           "ENU",                     // Language
                           "c:\\temp",                // TempDir
                           "c:\\temp\\trace",         // TraceDir
                           4);                        // TraceLevel

      odServer = new ODServer(uat);
      odServer.initialize(applicationName);

Any thoughts?

Is this part a typo?

OD/WEK & JAVA API / Resource ID appears to have a -1 for the agid
« on: May 23, 2013, 06:33:23 AM »
ODWEK 8.4.1.0

We have a bulk retrieval utility and have just made a change to only retrieve each resource file 1 time (by storing the file with the resource id and checking if we already have it).

During a run of 3300 docs, all of a sudden in the middle of the run, the resource ids appear to start showing -1 for the agid and it continues that way for the rest of the run.

Has anyone seen this?

MP Server / Specify obj server using arsload?
« on: February 16, 2011, 06:04:49 AM »
We run multiple obj servers (4) to 1 lib server.  I thought there was some talk about being able to run arsload remotely and being able to specify which obj server to use.  Has that been implemented yet?  If so, with which version?  What syntax?

MP Server / Re: Reload AFP Data
« on: February 08, 2011, 07:11:15 AM »
For the original question:

Yes you can reload previously parsed data.

Extract the original load as generic:
   arsdoc get -h {od_inst} -u {user} -p {pass} -G {AppGroup} -X {loadid} -cgNa -o {myfilename.ARD}

Then you can do a "force generic load" into an existing application.

  arsload -h {od_inst} -u {user} -p {pass} -vf -X G -g {AppGroup} -a {app}  {myfilename.ARD}

Depending on your version, the extract may add this line to the .ind file :
IGNORE_DATA_EVAL:1

but the loader does not recognize it  (Invalid generic index file format: >IGNORE_DATA_EVAL:1<).
Just edit the .ind file and strip it out.

Fun with arsdate date and date/time

Select
--date
STOP_DATE,
DATE('1969-12-31') + stop_date DAYS,
CHAR(DATE('1969-12-31') + stop_date DAYS, USA),
--date/time
last_update,
TIMESTAMP('1970-01-01-00.00.00') + last_update SECONDS,
CHAR(DATE(TIMESTAMP('1970-01-01-00.00.00')+ last_update SECONDS),USA)
from ROOT.ARSSEG
