General / Re: Latest IBM OnDemand Training
« on: July 20, 2023, 01:19:24 PM »
Thanks for info Darrell, I did see there site but it look a little week so I moved on.   I see in your tag that you have PDF indexer experience.   We store a ton of AFP docs and management wants to move to PDF storage.  Can you recommend any PDF documents that clearly explain how to configure and process PDF's via the PDF Indexer?

Thanks again,

WH

It is been over 10 years since I have had CMOD training and would like to go for a refresh.  Problem is I cannot find any training courses.  Can anyone suggest where I can get CMOD training?

MP Server / Re: DB2 Backup Question - Post CMOD 9.0

Thanks for the response guys.  IBM Professional Services actually performed the Migration for us.  You think they would have known not to do so.  Know we must battle to get IBM Services fix this mistake without charge.

MP Server / DB2 Backup Question - Post CMOD 9.0
« on: January 31, 2014, 08:55:47 AM »
Good morning all,

12/15/2013 we migrated from Windows CMOD MP 8.4.1 to CMOD MP 9.0.0.1(Windows 2008R2)and we have been running well until this past saturday 1/25/2013 where we completed this last phase of the migration, top off our TSM to 6.3.2.   Whoa!!!  Big difference.  TSM now controls the DB2 instances -- weird..  My problem is now that TSM 6.3.2 is the boss of DB2 we no longer have the luxury of using DB2 9.7 UDB's TOOLSDB functionality, according the TSM Support.  So how do I automate my DB2 Offline and Online backups?  I don't mind using a script kicked of with Windows ask Scheduler but the below scripts stops after opening the db2 command window.  Any idea's guys?

DB2CMD
DB2 CONNECT TO ARCHIVE
DB2 BACKUP DATABASE ARCHIVE ONLINE TO G:\OnlineDB2Backups WITH 3 BUFFERS BUFFER 1024 PARALLELISM 1 INCLUDE LOGS WITHOUT PROMPTING

MP Server / Need to move TSM volumes to new Disk
« on: February 25, 2013, 08:46:13 AM »
Good morning CMOD brethren.   I am in need of moving all of our TSM data to new disk\TSM Volumes.  I am down to the 'move data' portion and am in need of a script so that I may move 10-20 volumes at a time.  I wish I could use a batch file but...  Can anyone help with a move data script that can be ran from the TSM command line.  Thank you ???

MP Server / Re: Concurrent Users (ARSSOCKD)
« on: December 06, 2010, 08:24:42 AM »
This not really related but this past Friday we needed to perform some maintenance on our CMOD MP server but had to wait until the last user logged off.  We monitored the users by watching the 201 SysLog messages which reports every 30 minutes or so.  My question is how can the 201 ARSSOCKD commnad be manually executed, is there a ARS command to show current logins/license in use?

Thanks guys

MP Server / Re: System load application group fields
« on: March 11, 2010, 02:13:43 PM »
Sandeep,  I also have installed with 8.4 and find myself almost never using the log.  Although, at times we have to perform unloads and the System Load Log makes it much easier to to obtain the LoadID's. I can see where the log would be great many reporting task, such as growth trend analysis. The problem is that I am so used to querying the System Log I forget about the Sytem Load log.  It is also reported that installing the Load Log slows load perfromance because of the dual log write.  Try it on your test box.

Since this origianl post I have implemented a good number query restrictions throughout our CMOD enviroment and all are working fine.  But do to the nature of some of the data our Audit departments is requesting a report showing which users were restricted from querying which data.  Does anyone know if Ondemand records any data regarding the restrictions?  All input is greatly appreciated.

Report Indexing / Excluded ending summary from Report
« on: August 03, 2009, 02:13:52 PM »
Need help in a line data report, I usually store AFP so I need help.  We are storing a report that Trigger 1 is 'Page 01' whihc is breaking the report successfully.  The porblem is that the report end with a summary that is attached to the last break, so the end user is seeing a summary of customers data that he should not be seeing.  How do I exclude summer from the last report break?  Also, let me say that this report was created long ago before me so I do not know any of the reasoning behind the configuration.

Some are a second later and some are 1 minute later.  And yes the remaining .ARD is renamed to .ARD.Failed  What do you think? ???

MP Server / Very Odd OD load failures - need help!!
« on: February 04, 2009, 09:14:57 AM »
In September we put a new onDemand 8.4 server in to replace or 7.1.2.6 server.  We began prodution on the new server at 8.4.0.3 and immediately notice that we would up to 100+ plus load failures a night. We have opened an PMR with Support but they cannot tell us why the Loader is not removing the .ARD file after a successful load. IBM suggested that we apply 8.4.1.0 fix pack and it did fix some issues but not this one. These particular loads that are failing are coming from a Windows Image capture system (TIFF Files)and load at 6:00PM ever night in the 100's.  Ofcousre each load contains a .IND, .OUT, and ARD files.  What were are seeing is that the load will be successful, the .IND and .OUT file will be remove from the ARSLOAD directory but .ARD trigger file will remain causing the a second load to fail 1 second later.   There could be 20 to 200 of these failures a night all a second after loading successfully.  It is like the System is out pacing it self and seeing the previous trigger file before it has bee removed but then failing with the error that this file has not been indexed.  Has anyone seen or heard of this problem.  Also I cannot duplicate this issue from command line.

Pre-Thanks,
waytec
