Title: CMOD 8.5.0.5 client bug in Recent Folders !
Post by: LWagner on July 16, 2012, 03:02:15 PM
In the 8.4.03 client, the Recent Folders list was private to each user.

EXTREMELY cool !

In the 8.5.0.5 client, ITS GONE.  The private Recent Folders is gone.  Recent Folders is now public, from I know not where, the instance no doubt.

I can not roll out this client with this collosal blunder.

I advise everyone to refrain from using this client until the fix is rolled out. There will be a very upset user community.

Hi,

do you mean between windows users or ondemand users? Looks like the recent folders are in the windows registry under:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/IBM/OnDemand32/Common/@SRV@_Instance => RECENT_FOLDER1 - 20

So if you logon with one windows user and different ondemand users the recent folders are "public". If you logon with a different windows user the recent folder should be different. Isn't it?

Tested with 8.5.0.5

Cheers!

No.

I only log on as myself on the CMOD 8.5.0.5 user client.

There are folders listed in "Recent Folders" I have never opened.

This never happened in the 16 months on the 8.4 client I used. No "mystery folders" ever turned up .

I open two particular folders every morning.  In a couple hours yesterday, they had rolled off, even though I was not using the client, and it had 10 folders listed I had not opened when I went back in.

Recent Folders is now empty for this new user.

I log off and back on with my ID.  Recent Folders is still empty
from the previous user.

Larry - please don't put my name on the subject line of an append.  Are you trying to communicate directly with me?  If so, send me an email.  If you're posting to a forum, aren't you trying to reach everyone?  If you're trying to report a problem please open a PMR.  I am not here in any official capacity, just another user of CMOD.

My 8.4.1.7, 8.5.0.4, and 8.5.0.5 clients work exactly as mayach describes.  I suspect the problem lies on your end.

Larry - please don't put my name on the subject line of an append.

I've removed your name from the topic (and replies) in this thread.  Now you won't spend the rest of your life with this thread being the top hit in Google for your name...  ;)

I just got another folder in my recent folders list, which I did not open recently

So some person here has access to my registry ?

Or more likely someone has access to your PC?   ???

Maybe time to give 8.5.0.6 a try?

Hello Larry,

definitely an error on your side!! :-) Recent folders are private to the user, even in CMOD V9, and it doesn't make sense to be public!!!

Sincerely yours,
Alessandro
