Other / ARSLOAD fails when calling exit
« on: November 06, 2017, 07:05:16 AM »
Heres a weird one, couldnt figure out a better spot to put it..

All my application groups use a custom exit. Not sure what it does, not a C dev, and I dont think theres any left sadly here.

We run a basic ARSLOAD daemon as root..when a file comes in it loads, the exit is called, and everything loads fine.

When I try issuing arsload -nvf -g appgroup filename   <--I get an 88 record indicating the exit couldnt execute. The same thing happens with sudo.

Any thoughts on this? Does my question make sense?

Is the PDF using the generic indexer?

You literally answered all my questions with that. Thanks!

I think I'm getting there.

So back to the second post in this thread.

I'm just confused about --

/home/archive/reslib/AG/App/Version

That would only be used for sending them to a printer right? I don't think listing out all the libraries in the indexing settings will be of value to me.

Excellent. Better explanation than IBM

SO, is that directory something that CMOD pulls the fonts from, and then uploads them to? or is it something we should upload fonts for new reports into here..

Or should they go on the afp2pdf box

thanks JD.

Sounds like these references are useless for what we do, we won't be doing any reprinting from CMOD. If we did, we'd make the mainframe folks do it.

Thoughts?

Hi Arnold,
When said about "Proper Authority", what else I require to check . Could you please help.
As the Same User could able to update for Other APPL_GROUP, but this specific APPL_GROUP retrun Failed during Update.
So Checked the below Permission

:> Field is Updateable
:> User -> Type is "SYstem Adminstrator" + has "Administrator and Access" Authority for that APPL group + has the Document "Update Access"

Any other Permission to be checked?

Thanks

can you try doing this via your CMOD admin user, the one that does arsload/arsmaint/etc

First install here working with AFP2PDF conversion on retrieval, bear with me :)

On our CMOD server, we have the following information in the indexer information for our applications-

On the CMOD Server-

RESTYPE=ALL
FORMDEF=F113NG41, etc..
PAGEDEF=P1NG500X, etc..
FDEFLIB=/usr/lpp/psf/fdeflib
PDEFLIB=/usr/lpp/psf/pdeflib
PSEGLIB=/usr/lpp/psf/pseglib
FONTLIB=/usr/lpp/psf/fontlib
OVLYLIB=/usr/lpp/psf/ovlylib

On the ODWEK server,

ResourceDataPath=/opt/ondemand/afp2pdf/reslib
;Font_Path=/opt/ondemand/afp2pdf/font
Font_Path=/prod/apps/odwek/afp2pdf/font

what is the point of having the libraries for the fonts/resources listed in the indexing settings, if we are using the resources/fonts defined in afp2pdf? In my prior gig, I don't remember seeing those options in our app settings for afp. There was much less coding required in the application. That was converted to PDF via XENOS at retrieval though.

Windows Client / Re: Viewing an AFP in FAT client

Nolan, very helpful. Thanks much.

Having an issue where the file looks good coming out of exstream as a PDF, and an AFP. After AFP2PDF conversion, fonts are overlaying each other on a particular page. They requested that I take a look at it in the ondemand admin client. Now that I know this, I wont bother.

By the way, my last client we joked about the "PCness" of thick/fat client ;D ;D ;D

I have an afp that’s giving me some issues after transforming. I would like to view it how it is loaded into cmod.

I pull it up in the thick client and it opens but it doesn’t load any of the proper fonts. This file has inline resources. How can I properly view this file in CMOD

This looks like a permission issue. I tried this on my administrator account and I got the same error message you got. I went and double checked security, and sure enough I had to make a change.

Only thing I can think of, is you might have your -n / -i reversed.

Or a security issue with the user acconut you are using, but youve mentioned that youve tried that.

I did mine on 8.5.0.6

Send the EXACT syntax you used, just replace your CMOD object names and fields with XXXX
