So you aren't going through the fat client to do this?   We send a lot of items to excel but do it through the fat client which simplifies the process.

Windows Client / Citrix and customization
« on: March 24, 2016, 06:47:58 AM »
Does anybody have experience using the Windows client on Citrix?  Specifically customizations?  I have zero knowledge of Citrix however for one of our instances the users are putting their clients on Citrix.  When they go to logon the server information is always cleaned out and they have to re-enter the information every time.  I'm assuming someone would have to hard code that information into the registry which has to be possible, no?  Also how does the Citrix environment affect preferences? If Citrix doesn't allow user specific updates to the registry does that mean preferences, shortcuts, expression finds, recent ... etc won't be available on an individual basis?

Ed,
Do you know if the method of defining the keyring and cert through RACF should work even if we are only using CMOD internal security and don't have ARSUSECZ enabled?

Thanks Ed.  Good info

Thanks!   That's a lot more than I had before.  I'll run through it and see what I can do.  Thanks for the tips as well.

z/OS Server / SSL on z/OS
« on: March 11, 2016, 07:22:37 AM »
Has anyone set up SSL on a z/OS CMOD server (V9.5)?  Documentation is rather sparse regarding this and I'm quite unfamiliar with SSL in general.  I think I've managed to set up the keyring file and stash file but I seem to be stuck getting beyond this point.  For example, based on the config guide there is no way to specify a port for SSL.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Greg

Interesting. Only reason I asked was one of our guys got a similar message when they forgot the TS step.  From the messages it does seem to be connecting to DB2 but can't find whatever it's looking for. Everything else looks right.  Hopefully the PMR finds the issue.

I guess the basic question first.  Did you create the Tablespaces first before running arsdb -trsv?

No way to track the original input file that I know of.  Best I can think of, if you have control over it, is to name your index file (and trigger file if using the daemon) the same as the input file.

Where are the txt and AFP files?   JES Queue or Dataset?

The PDFs on the Unix side shouldn't be too hard,we load some (pdf indexer) through batch calling a REXX.

I'm curious as to why you're avoiding running ARSLOAD as a started task to load your files from the JES queue?

z/OS Server / Re: INDEXSTYLE=DOC special report breaking

Nothing like BREAK=EVERY that I'm aware of.  Since you want to break on every page I have to assume there is something you're already indexing on (claim #?) or something you could index on that, when set to break=yes, would accomplish what you want to do.

TRIGGER1 doesn't automatically cause a document break.  You'll still need to set one of your indexes to BREAK=YES

133
Just a thought.  If you're on MP maybe you could use a regular expression in the trigger to catch (or not catch) the date: REGEX=’[0-9]{8}’ ?

134
Definitely agree.   If there's nothing there it should take a default instead of making us go through these contortions.

What I've done in those cases is use a trigger on that field.  Use one of the "/" for the trigger.  Then I tie the field to that trigger.  CMOD will use the default when it can't find the trigger but not when the field is formatted wrong.
