I'm installing 10.5 on a new server and when I run the command /opt/ibm/ondemand/V10.5/bin/arsdb -I archive -rtv I'm getting the following errors:
ARS4026I Creating table cmod.arsag
ARS4054E DB Error: ORA-00955: name is already used by an existing object -- SQLSTATE=, SQLCODE=955
ARS4027E Unable to create table cmod.arsag
I'm using the database from an existing environment so I understand why these tables exist.
Since I'm using an existing database is it necessary for me to To create the database instance and mentioned in the installation documentation?
If so, how can I do this with the existing database?

If it's a new server, why are you trying to use a database from another server?
Can you describe the 'big picture' of what you're trying to achieve here?

So Just noticed this post. I'm no oracle expert (ive only seen one client using oracle..and it was setup by my predecessor)
I read the documentation and if I did read correctly, it says that you have to have an existing oracle database setup. Did I read that right or am I missing out on something?

Given that they never came back, it looks like they figured it out. It'd be nice if we knew what the answer was.
It sounded like they were trying to create database tables after moving a database from another system, which doesn't make a lot of sense...
