OK. If you are sure you are using Active Directory as your LDAP server than you should probably open a PMR at this point. This way we can gather more information.

What do you have set for the ARS_LDAP_SERVER_TYPE parameter in your config?

My guess is you have an incorrect filter defined. Test your user and group filters with either adfind.exe or ldapsearch. You can find information on these tools in the LDAP Sync whitepaper. If you continue to struggle open a PMR and we will get you all the help you need.

Content Navigator / Re: Line2PDF viewer/transform anyone?

Can you share your xml file that contains the transform in question? I am thinking you might be missing something in there.

OD/WEK & JAVA API / Re: ICN link for CMOD document.
« on: February 03, 2020, 07:30:33 AM »
Both ODHit.getDocId() and ODHit.getOpenDocId() return back the native CMOD docID (one tied to a user id and one not). In their native format, they are not suitable for transmission via http/https. You must first URLEncode them before you can use them.

There are no other methods to get docID's.

It should work for the viewer too.

Windows Client / Re: Use of ARSOLE.OCX

Certainly seems like something you could accomplish with OCX controls. From your description I don't see any issues. Another option might be to call web services (you would have to build those) from your VB app. Do these users already have an ID in OnDemand or would you use a generic ID?

Thanks,

RR

Hey Joe,

Would you be willing to share a description of the problem you are trying to solve?

Thanks,

OD/WEK & JAVA API / Re: Searching mapped folder fields with multiple values
« on: November 05, 2019, 12:15:20 PM »
Without knowing your data model (i.e. how many mapped fields) or what a typical search looks like....

Could you simply create a folder without that field mapped and than filter the search results on the mid-tier?

If your result set isn't too large the may be more efficient than performing multiple searches.

Thanks,

MP Server / Re: CMOD 10.1.0.4 LDAP Synch
« on: October 25, 2019, 02:26:11 PM »
Sorry about that. Sounds like the process of applying the query restrictions/permissions isn't quite correct. ARSLYNC doesn't do that part.

Sounds like permissions may have changed for the user by some other process. ARSLSYNC doesn't assign permissions it just creates users, groups and assigns group membership. I would look in the system log for message 36 to see if there are any user updates after the fact.

Thanks,
Rob

Windows Client / Re: Can ALL error messages be Suppressed

I know this one for sure.

....No....

You could make a custom install for the client that has this set though.

As it turns out this may be possible...

To suppress error messages about fonts, etc in the windows client you try and add the following to the ftdport2.ini which is located in the C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\OnDemand Clients\V10.1\bin (assuming default install path).

[Misc]
Warn=FALSE

I really don't recommend this is most cases. if you are 100% certain you don't care about the warnings, give it a shot.

Thanks,
RR

Let me also add that you should specify -d <dir> Directory to store files . I believe this will get the files where you want them to go (I am not 100% this will work and I can't test it because 8.5 has long since be out of support, worth a try though.).

Do you happen to also get a .ind, .out and .res in the output directory of your arsdoc get command?
