MP Server / Application Cleanup
« on: June 24, 2014, 05:43:25 AM »
Does anyone know if there is a way to bring back a listing of Applications defined to CMOD with NO versions associated with them?...Currently we have over 39,000 Applications defined and over 3,400 Application Groups defined to our system...Allot of them came over with the conversion from ODE2.1 and we're guessing allot aren't even being used any longer and have no versions loaded to them...We'd like to get a listing so we can go back to the application owners to see if they are still valid and if not, remove them.

Report Indexing / PDF and Generic Indexer
« on: June 19, 2014, 10:34:06 AM »
I'm attempting to load a PDF using a Generic Indexer and not run it through the PDF report wizard...Does anyone know what CODE PAGE I should use in my .IND file?  For XLS we've always used a Code Page of 819...

WEBI interface / Downloading an indexed report
« on: May 01, 2014, 08:31:38 AM »
Not sure if this topic has ever come up previously...We are running Webi client Version 1.0.4.500 - 201-SEP27....The issue some of our users have approached is is regarding downloading..As an example, if there is an report that is indexed..If a user wants to view only selected indexes, they just have to check the box next  to the appropriate index and then click on the Glasses icon..This will then open up a viewer box with the number of tabs corresponding to the number of boxes that were checked..To view each selection they need to click on each separate tab...It seems if they want to do a download, there is no way to "Combine" all the tabs into one document...Each tab has to  be separately downloaded, one at a time...Does anyone know of a way to do a single download at one  time on all the selected tabs?

Windows Client / Administrator Client Issue
« on: March 10, 2014, 03:12:04 AM »
Hi there...We have strange issue that's occurred a few times....Currently we are running Content Manager OnDemand 8.5.0 Admin client...It's installed on each of our P.C.'s...We've had at least two occasions where when attempting to delete an Application Group, it will basically 'take down' the whole system. What happens is we remove any existing versions. We then go in and attempt to delete the Application Group (which with also remove the Application)...The Admin Client will basically go into a "not responding" mode...We then have to force shutdown the session...When we log back in, nothing has been removed...When I asked a co-worker to try, his delete worked flawlessly..But afterwards, we noticed nothing was ingesting...All the ARSLOAD's were backing up..We first tried to recycle them to get them going again..Didn't work..We then started to get calls from users unable to log into the Webi..We then tried to recycle the App itself which corrected the ingestion issue but users still could not log into Webi...That has to  be recycled as well on the websphere...The issue with the deletion is not isolate to one particular PC...It happened before on a co-workers PC...Keep in mind this isn't a "common" thing but obviously when it does occur it causes MAJOR issues when it impacts the user community...Just curious if anyone else out there has ever run into this kind of issue and if so, what, if anything was found to be the cause..Appreciate any feedback or info.

z/OS Server / RACF sercurity
« on: February 26, 2014, 04:22:48 AM »
Is there anyone currently using RACF for their user id validation on CMOD8.5?  We are using RACF security since that was what was used when we were running ode2.1 on  the mainframe...When the conversion was done to CMOD years ago, they kept that security in place...UNFORTUNATELY no one either thought, or bothered to set anything up to do automatic user id adds/deletes to CMOD...The resulted in us manually deleting over 5000 non valid RACF ids off our system..It also resulted in us to have to manually add new users...We do know of a RACF file that gets updated daily that another application uses..Just not sure what type of file it is (trying to find out) or how it's formatted...The 1000 dollar question is, if we can use this file,  what would need to be done to somehow use it to go against our current user file in CMOD to add/remove ids?...Just curious if anyone is currently doing anything like this and what they did...My biggest task would be to find someone to set something like this up since I'm not a programmer...my guess is it's not a simple thing otherwise it would have been done when the original conversion to CMOD from ODE2.1 was done!!!.. ;)

Any info would  be appreciated!

Take care

Report Indexing / ACIF INDEXER ISSUE
« on: January 30, 2014, 11:54:37 AM »
Does anyone know of a way to ignore a invalid character in column 1 of the data when using the ACIF indexer?...We have a report that has x'c5' in column 1 on the LAST page...It does have a channel 1 in column one on this page but then it has these x'c5' in column 1 also...This report was originally defined using OS/390 and it didn't have an issue with this type of file...We even attempted to add another trigger and go off of indexing using it and NOT channel 1...Still had an issue..

WEBI interface / Password Change option
« on: January 29, 2014, 07:12:44 AM »
Hello...We are currently running Webi Version 1.0.4...We converted to CMOD a few years ago off of ODE2.1 (mainframe)...The security for ODE2.1 was based off of the users RACF security..When we converted to CMOD, the same security was implemented...So password expiration is based off of the RACF setting on the mainframe..The "Change Password" option on the Webi signon screen does not allow a person to do change their password...When a persons needs to change their password, they are forced to log back into a mainframe application (usually CICS) to change their password and then they can log back into CMOD Webi..The issue we are facing is with External users who don't have mainframe access OR those new internal users who are forced to obtain a RACF ID just for CMOD even though it's web based...Is there anyone out there using this type of security and if so, have you implemented a means to allow the Change Password option to work via  the WEBI?...And if so, how is something like this implented?

Other / Monthly Stats
« on: January 23, 2014, 04:15:26 AM »
Got another off the wall question...Our management is looking for us to provide some statistics...Basically looking for a "total" count of pages,  across ALL Applicatons, we are loading on a monthly basis...Does anyone know if it's possible to retrieve that kind of number?..And if so, how would you go about doing so?...

Other / Clean up question...
« on: January 09, 2014, 06:16:20 AM »
Hoping I'm posting this in the correct forum...My question is does anyone know if there is a way to do a scan of folders defined to CMOD to determine if they have an versions?....When we did our conversion years ago to CMOD from ODE2.1, we defined everything that was defined to the old system onto CMOD...Some of these folders/applications are no longer sending data to CMOD and any versions have just rolled off...What we are looking to find out is which folders don't have any versions so we can determine if the definitions (folder, application & application group) can be removed...Thanks!

Documentation / Extracting data from CMOD
« on: January 07, 2014, 10:08:50 AM »
Hi,

We have a request from a user to download.extract 3 months of data from a report stored on CMOD...This is a daily report that is also indexed off of one field...There are particular criteria on each page they are interested on for researching...With the report being indexed, there multiple indexes per each version...So it isn't feasible to download each index, for each day over such a long period of time (3-4 months worth)..In the past, with the mainframe version of OnDemad (2.1) our systems people have been able to extract the data for the user....We are wondering if there is such a way to also do this via CMOD?....We are currently running CMOD 8.5.0.6..Any help or direction would be appreciated...We feel we'll be getting more of these types of requests (for auditing or researches) as more and more data gets stored on CMOD over time...

Thanks, Dave

« on: November 06, 2013, 04:44:58 AM »
I'm attempting to load a file with the date on the file formatted as 04-NOV-13....I can't find a format that will accept the NOV...I've tried MTH, Mth and B..Anyone know what format to use to accept a 3 character, ALL CAP month format?

ie %d-%B-%d
   %d-%MTH-%d
   %d-%Mth-%d

Row 1:  The string "04-NOV-13" could not be converted to a date from the format of %d-%Mth-%y
Loaded 0 rows into the database

Windows Client / Viewing stats
« on: October 18, 2013, 07:17:04 AM »
Not sure of this is the correct forum to post this question, but does anyone know of a way to pull information on any application/folder to tell who has viewed it and when it was viewed?...This question was raised by one of our users wanting to know if anyone is viewing one of their reports to determine if it still is needed to be stored in CMOD...

Report Indexing / PDF Indexer issue
« on: August 08, 2013, 04:16:23 AM »
Hello all....Just wanted to post an issue we found when attempting to load a PDF to OnDemand...We are running the PDF through the "Report Wizard" in order to get the indexing parameters..What we found is certain PDF's, depending on what created them, will result in errors when loading the PDF...We use Adobe Acrobat...But we had a who was using another PDF producer (iText 5.4.3)...What is happening is, the Report Wizard seems to work fine...We highlight the "Trigger" and "Fields" we want to use to setup the indexing..But what is happening, when we attempt to load the PDF, we receive errors indicating that either the "Trigger" or "Field" isn't found..When we take the same PDF, save it as a Word Doc and then create a new PDF using Adobe Acrobat, run it through the Report Wizard, it loads successfully...What is really strange is, this user had modified their original PDF using the iTEXT PDF Producer to add an indexing page....Their original PDF was created using a different PDF Producer called AMYUNI...They loaded successfully..So we're not sure if it's the actual PDF Producer or HOW he is modifying the PDF's adding this new page...Anyone else run into this kind of issue? I've included a screen shot of one of the errors we received indicating the field wasn't found

Windows Client / Full Report Browse
« on: August 06, 2013, 05:14:30 AM »
Hello, we have a user who is loading a report to CMOD....This particular report loads over 8 MILLION pages (yes, PAGES, not bytes!)...This particular report already has over 20 indexes defined...The issue is, a select group of users that use this report want/need to have to capability to browse the entire report in order to do a find..Currently this report is still being loaded on the mainframe using ODE2.1 and the users are able to do a find across the entire version..But we need to stop this ingestion to the mainframe...We thought about utilizing the FULL REPORT BROWSE option on the thick client but have run into issues even getting the report to bring up to view after choosing the "View Full Report" option...Does anyone know of any restrictions for this option or any special setup requirements in order for it to work on such a large report?

Report Indexing / PDF File names
« on: July 18, 2013, 06:13:14 AM »
Hi, we have an user group that wants to load multiple PDF's to OnDemand...The way the files need to be named are ApplicationGroupName.ApplicationName.PDF...The issue is they have MANY MANY files they want to send at one time....Is it possible to send many files to the ARSLOAD directory in OnDemand with the same name? As at test, using WINSCP, when I attempted to copy a file from my PC to the OnDemand directory, it indicated that the file already existed and asked if existing one should be overwritten.
