Title: Update ODWEK First, Then Update Java
Post by: Ed_Arnold on November 28, 2014, 08:16:07 AM
Horse, then cart.

Occasionally we still see people getting bit by newer Java requiring newer ODWEK.

Bottom line:  Upgrade ODWEK to 9.0.0.3 or 8.5.0.9 *before* installing Oracle Java 7 Update 25.

From what I am told, we are considering upgrading from Java 7 to Java 8.
As a new CMOD site I've never even heard of ODWEK, but I see here where we must update ODWEK first.
Is that an issue with Java 8 being about 3 1/2 years old, and we are running CMOD 10.1 ?

Thanks,

Rod

EDIT Ha! I see where in 10.1 ODWEK is no longer shipped with the product:

OnDemand Web Enablement Kit (ODWEK) CGI/Servlet support no longer shipped: Support for CGI/Servlet was deprecated at V9.0 and has been removed from the product at V10.1.

I'm beginning to suspect that upgrading to Java 8 will not be much of an issue with our version of CMOD
