Report Indexing / Re: Indexing issues
« on: September 26, 2018, 05:16:14 AM »
HMMMM...The trigger we are using for doing the actual indexes is TRIGGER2....We look for the word ACCOUNT.  In the indexer we used for the mainframe file, we had this trigger set with a RECORDRANGE only looking in the first 6 lines.  If we left it as is, looking in ANY row in column 2 it would find it down the page certain times...

TRIGGER2=*,2,X'4143434F554E543A',(TYPE=FLOAT)                     /* ACCOUNT:     */

The other Trigger is just for channel 1
TRIGGER1=*,1,X'31',(TYPE=GROUP)

And the last one is for the POSTING DATE because its only on the first page...The one works as we are getting that date for POSTING DATE and not the ingestion date...

so from this, do you think its the TRIGGER 2 causing the problem even though the index fields are being captured???

Report Indexing / Indexing issues
« on: September 26, 2018, 04:17:27 AM »
Hi,  We have an app that wants to start sending a mainframe file directly to our server.  Currently its run though a mainframe job that creates the output and sends it CMOD.  So the file they send us shows carriage control characters (1) at top of every page.  We ran the file through the report wizard to get the indexing values.  When we ingest the file, it APPEARS to be indexing correctly but when you open up each index itself, they contain ALL the pages in the file...I've attached the indexer and also screen shot of the results when we pull up the version.  I also attached a screen shot of the VIEW INFORMATION tab on the Application definition...As indicated, when you click on each of the indexes, they all show the same thing.  The full file itself.  we can't figured out what the issue is.  any ideas??

Justin,

We've relayed all 2 errors (MSG 429) and (MSG 24) to the TSM team....We just started receiving these messages....When we try and retrieve any of the report we get the message, "The Server failed while retrieving a document".  By coincidence, it appears we had received 88 failures on other reports either before or after the documents that that we cannot retrieve even though they appear to have loaded successfully...It's only a matter of time till users start complaining....As indicated, this mess all started after they attempted to migrate to ECS from Centera.  Even though they had backed off that switch and we're supposedly back to writing to centera these issues are still happening...Again, thanks for the input Justin!!!

Justin,

Not sure if this is related, but we're now seeing 429 messages that aren't the same we were getting when we received the 88 failure indicating "Unable to store the object"

The new 429 message indicates, TSM Error: ANS1314E (RC14)   File data currently unavailable on server
, Return Code=14, Reason=0, File=arssmsms.cpp, Line=1893  Srvr->xsa00e70.example.com 999.999.49.139 non-SSL<-

We also see a message 24 that shows, Object >1102FAAC< in Application Group >KYG< not found in node >CENTERA3650<  Srvr->xsa00e70.example.com 999.999.49.139 non-SSL<-

Not sure where the 3 digit Application Group name is coming from..We have no Application Group ids called that....The users that are getting the message 24 each have their own unique Application group id

These are all on user ids....As of yet, we haven't had any complaints...But appears to be relates to users attempting to view data...I know you indicated before the failures we saw could mean trouble reading data in the future...

So far we the last 88 failure we received was on 08/14 when we received 11 in a row...No resolution from anyone involved other that setting up an STK log???

Justin, just a caveat to muddy the waters....We started seeing these errors immediately after attempting to migrate from Centera to ECS...Initially we believe this was the issue...We migrated back to Centera but have continued to receive these same errors...So not sure if its just a coincidence or not.....

Thanks you SO much Justin!!!!.... I've relayed this information to the TSM area....We thought when he took the drive offline on Friday (8/10) and we didn't see any errors the rest of the day or all of 8/11 that was the issue.  Then we received just one error on Sunday.  Granted we aren't loading much over the weekend and then 6 yesterday.  Can't pinpoint it to a specific time during the day.    We aren't sure if maybe this same drive he took offline somehow came back online over the weekend??..Not heard anything back on that....The oddity is the timing of these failures always being at the quarter hour...Always right on or 1 min past...See below for times last week of failures.  Not sure how many drives there are.

MP Server / Unable to store object Failure
« on: August 14, 2018, 03:05:03 AM »
Over the past month or so we've been getting intermittent failures.  They all receive the same EXACT msg number 429 (full message below).  It appears to be related to TSM but no one from our TSM area seems to know what the issue is.  What we've noticed is the failures ALWAYS occur on the quarter of the hour.  So as an example, errors occur at top of hour, 15 mins past, 30 mins past or 45 mins past.  Someone from Centera noticed a drive was kicking out errors.  They took that drive offline and we were good the rest of that day (Friday) and all of Saturday.  Saw one failure Sunday but then received 6 yesterday (Monday 8/13).  Failures occur on both OS390 and ACIF reports.  Its not related to size of the data because in some cases, failures are on 1 page reports.  I've also included below a sample if the actual 88 message.  Appreciate any info anyone may have regarding this.

Thanks again Justin...They had a meeting with the user today...I was unable to attend so not sure what the outcome was...In the end, I'm hoping its not something we get involved with...Going back to your original remarks, this should go back to the application sending the data to CMOD...For us to do some automatic feed of these numbers they want to their own dashboard seems to be out of scale...I'll have to check with our engineers to see what came from their meeting...Thanks again to everyone!!!!

We can pull the numbers they want manually I believe...But it appears from their initial email they are looking for something automated as to where CMOD send these numbers to some dashboard application where they can go to verify what was received by CMOD matches what was sent.  I believe there is a meeting scheduled to get more details.  See what comes from that!!!  ;-)  Thanks again to all for their input!!!!!

Apologies if this is the wrong forum for this question.  We had a user come to us asking if there was a way to automatically send their numbers for a report the send to CMOD to feed a dashboard application.  I know this information can be 'manually' gathered as far as getting a total, which we would not want to do.  But they are looking for something automated.  Not sure if anyone else has had this question posed to them.  But in thinking, even it its possible, don't think we want to get involved with something like this.  Can foresee many others looking for something like this....Below is what was asked:

When CMOD receives the file , does the it know how many individual account records were present in the file? And how many reports were archived? Does CMOD know how many individual reports are archived per day for a specific report name?
If so, is there a way for this information to feed to a ‘dashboard application’ or to be picked up by another application (e.g. via an API)?
If not, is there a way for an automated ‘positive acknowledgement’ to be sent or picked up when the big statement file is received and archived successfully on ERR’s side?

Justin,  I created the PDF using Adobe Acrobat Pro (11.0.23)...I created it from a WORD document...OF course I couldn't find anything online on the exact PDDocOpen error code....What I ended up doing is just creating a new CMOD definition and loading the WORD DOC itself using the generic indexer....As always, appreciate your input!   Take care

Content Navigator / Re: AFP Document

Justin, we found the issue....It was on the ODWEK configuration file, that limited the conversion on number of pages...Once that was updated, we could see all the pages in the index!...Thanks for replying!  Take care.

Content Navigator / AFP Document

Hi, we ran into an issue with viewing an AFP document that has an index over 100 pages....For some reason, if the index is over 100 pages, it only shows the first 100...The PAGE DOWN shows 1/100 and the BOOKMARK ribbons only go to 100...Cant seem to find a way to view pages over 100....Not seeing this issue on the same report using WEBI...Only Content Navigator...Anyone else seeing this issue?
