Title: z/OS Level 2 Support Changes - Hail and Farewell
Post by: Ed_Arnold on April 29, 2014, 01:28:40 PM
Hail to our newest member of the team, Brian.  Some of you may have already worked with him.  He's been a long time systems programmer both as a customer and as an IBM internal employee and brings a lot of experience to the group.   :)  Hello Brian!

Ed (that's me if you haven't guessed) and Larry --- for those of us who don't know us --- we are about as fresh as the pyramids and we're still here.   ::)

However, with a heavy heart, I report that Trina has moved on to a position in development.  The rest of us Level 2 wonks didn't want to see her go but how could we stand in her way?   :'(  Best wishes, Trina!

Thanks for the update.  Sorry to see Trina go, she did good work for us in the past.

Title: New Member of the z/OS Level 2 CMOD Team!
Post by: Ed_Arnold on May 29, 2014, 12:34:15 PM
Good news!  With the increasing number of customers on CMOD on z we have picked up a new member of the team.

Please join me in welcoming Lamies (la-MEESS) to our team.

Lamies joins us after being a Client Technical Professional for DB2 Advisor for z/OS.

She was at IOD last year so some of you may have met her, as well as DB2 User Group meetings and customer Proof of Concepts.

She brings a wealth of DB2 on z/OS experience with her.

Welcome Lamies!

The CMOD on z Level 2 team is happy to announce that Lamies now has a baby girl, Sophia, to go along with big brother Sam.  Other than the parents not getting as much sleep lately I'm happy to report that everybody is doing fine, no problems whatsoever.

Lamies is currently on maternity leave and we're looking forward to her return, hopefully next month.

With heavy heart I report that we're losing a key member of the Level 2 support team the end of this week.

Marina Chester, an absolute linchpin on our LUW team, is seeking greener pastures.

We'll miss her greatly.

Absolutely!  Marina solved problems that stumped me for days!  Even though we haven't spoken in a few years, I'm sad to hear she won't be there anymore, but I absolutely wish her all the best in her new adventure.  :D

I've worked with Marina for almost 10 years on several PMR's and general questions. Best of luck to her!

I received a note off-forum asking about Karole Davis, that a customer hadn't heard from her.

It is with profound sadness that I'm reporting that Karole passed away last year after an extremely quick and unexpected illness.

Karole was one of our best LUW support techs.  Both personally and professionally, people here in the CMOD organization sought out her expertise on a variety of topics.  And we loved hearing her funny stories about her children and grandchildren.

I hesitated to post this, but thought that people who worked with her would like to know.

Yup, I was super sad to hear of Karole's passing.  She was always delightful and knowledgeable.

Perhaps I should ask the forum admin to move this thread to the "announcements" section?

Hail to the newest member of the CMOD support team!

Joining the LUW (multiplat) team is Ryan Fuerstenau.

Ryan has been a long time member of the test team; he's no noob.

So don't be surprised when you see a new name on your PMRs/cases/problem tickets or whatever they're called now.

Title: Level 2 Support Changes --- Lots Of Catching Up To Do
Post by: Ed_Arnold on May 17, 2022, 07:59:16 AM
Hail to the newer members of the Level 2 Support team!

In India, we have picked up Akshay Sai because of the increase in customers spanning Europe and Asia.

Here in the USA Tam Phan has joined the Level 2 support team.  Some of you may already know Tam from his CM days.

Sadly - with a heavy heart we have also parted ways with some long-time Level 2 reps.

From the UK team, Chris Holden has retired.

And on the USA side, Wenying (Eleanor) Andreesen has also retired.

Ryan Fuerstenau has left Level 2 support to pursue other opportunities.

Other than that, it's the same ol', same ol' Level 2 support specialists you've come to know lo these many years.   ;D
