Title: Any word on OnDemand for z/OS vers 8.x
Post by: flemingr on August 28, 2007, 04:09:35 PM
I saw that there will be a presentation about migrating from vers 2 to vers 8 at IOD 2007 in Las Vegas. But I haven't seen anything about OnDemand vers 8.x at the IBM DB2 CM OD for z/OS web site. Any news about CM OD for z/OS vers 8.x?

It would be REALLY great if that same session were at the free ODUG later that week (for those of us not interested in the expensive and time consuming IOD).

your co-worker has asked that IBM present in ODUG, and it will be reviewed at the next board meeting.

I asked about 8.3 in August, since IBM had just sent me tapes for CMOD 7.1 and CMOD 7.1 PTFs

IBM's reply was that the 8.3 version is a multi-platform version designation, but has no changes for z/OS, and in fact it is the same thing.  I guess they needed a new version number after 4 years or so.

8.4 for z/OS was announced, but does not have a release date yet. 7.1.2.9 is the latest for z/OS that's available for GA.
