z/OS Server / Re: ARSYSPIN user exits
« on: March 15, 2021, 07:00:13 AM »
Good Day,

I need a sample UX06 to add a piece of code to suppress "begin" and "end" records in output stream file produced by arsyspin program.

I am running CMOD 10.1 on zos 2.3.  Would you mind sending me a sample copy of UX06 "separator record processing" source whether assembler or cobol (no matter).

Thank you,
Bob Downer

I learned today sample user exits are not provided in CMOD version 10.   :(

What I want to do?  Use jobname and job number found on "begin" separator record (i.e. print line) as indexes for JES batch job outputs and z/os syslog spool files.  I want carriage control to work for JES logs and sysouts.  I do not want page breaks between "begin",  captured files, and "end" lines.  I desire all of these spool files to be captured with one arsyspin task running.
I do not want the begin and end lines to be printed/seen by end users.

Would like to code exit 6 of arsyspin to suppress begin and end separator lines, while still allowing fields populated on begin line to be used by OS/390 indexer.

Does anyone have a copy of exit 6 I can use to substitute my changes?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Bob Downer
