z/OS Server / Font error
« on: November 21, 2023, 11:09:56 AM »
Hi

We are helping a customer moving documents, and have made an IND file, an OUT file and a RES file with Targetstream. When loading the documents all is looking good, but when trying to view a document we get error message.
The first error message says :
1213:  Codeset 12605 is not supported in the unicode-converter program, the standard codeset is used.

We added the 12605 in the csdef.fnt : 12605=HelveticaSymbols, SWISS, MED,0

But we just got a similar error message :

1213:  Codeset 0 is not supported in the unicode-converter program, the standard codeset is used.

The files are not looking good:

I guess there is a problem with the codepage or something like this .. or ?

Anyone got an idea how to solve this ?

MP Server / AG SYSTEM Log
« on: October 13, 2023, 06:41:01 AM »
Hi

I have to make a new Application group for System Log .. the old one in referring to TSM and we are trying to remove TSM.
I have no problem adding a new Applicationgroup called System Log.ny, and Application can also be made without problems, but I am not able to delete the original System Log so I can rename the new Ssystem Log.ny to the original name.

Any advice here to how I can delete the system log and rename the new one ?

MP Server / Testmachine with TSM installed getting errors
« on: September 22, 2023, 12:29:31 AM »
Hi

I have a test machine with TSM installed that is now giving me error, and will not load new documents into CMOD:

TSM Error: ANS0266I (RC2302) The dsmEndTxn vote is ABORT, so check the reason field., Return Code=2302, Reason=29, File=arssmsms.cpp, Line=3774  Srvr->xxxxxx<-

I know we had some space issues last week, but it was solves and we added more disk.

I am not sure, but could it be that the disk that is added needs to be "added" to TSM (even though the disk system under /tsmdata looks ok now) ?
Or is this some other problem than disk error.

We were thinking of just switching the
ARS_STORAGE_MANAGER from =TSM to =CACHE_ONLY, but will this give us problems along the road ?

I do not have TSM installed in production and the one on the test machine was installed a long time ago (but have been updated)

Other / CD-ROM installations and missing file
« on: November 24, 2022, 02:01:53 AM »
Hi
I got an email from someone who is a customer of our company, but not from my department.
He has got a CDROM with documents but he struggles to open the client after installation.
Looks like all works ok untill he gets to the login part, then he gets an error : ARSSCK32.DLL not found

Anyone who has this file and can copy the file and email it to me ?

Worth mentioning : He has tried to install the cdrom 3 times, and it worked on one pc, they where able to login and view documents .. but then it did not work again

MP Server / Users with and without SSO
« on: May 04, 2022, 03:04:08 AM »
Hi!
Our customer wants us to enabe LDAP (SSO) to only some users, and the rest of the users included our users are held outside. When I enable the "Enable LDAP" setting .. I, as the administrator, must have the ability to add new non SSO users to the system, and also change passwords, and I can both add and change pw, but the users are not able to use the new userid or pw until I remove the "enable LDAP" box and do the process once more.
So the question is : Is it possible to have both SSO (LDAP) users AND normal non SSO users in the admin client ?

I have an AG with the internal DB2 name MCA.
MCA has 6 tables : MCA1, MCA2, MCA3, MCA4, MCA5 and MCA6.
When searching in the Client (thick Client installed on the computer) the customer and I cannot find any documents from MCA5, but we can find documents from all of the other tables (of course I have only searched for a few documents in all of the tables)

It looks like the table MCA5 has lost contact with the client, but we find all the documents when we search directly inside DB2

How can we connect the table again to CMOD so it can be searchable again for the client ?

MP Server / Embedded fonts in AFP-filer to CMOD
« on: May 09, 2019, 02:35:29 AM »
Hi

My customer wants to add embedded fonts, and wants to know which is the easiest (and fastest way) to do it :
1. add the embedded font in side the afp file
2. add the New font as a Resource in CMOD

I thought that the fastes way was to add the font into reslib .. but my supplier removed my root Access so I Guess the fastes way would be to add the font inside the afp file

Or ?

I added the font in the reslib, but what do I do to make sure that this New font will be added/taken in use

Report Indexing / Index ASCII files from linux
« on: April 05, 2016, 11:17:14 PM »
I have a ascii file from Linux that I would like to load into the system, but I am not sure how to set up the Application. I have tried to use the grafic indexer to get the trigger and the indexes I need, but it seems to convert the text into a unreadable file
I have Attached the input file, the error file and the Application definitions.
I really hope to get some help on how the "indexer information" should look like.
I usually have data from os/390 (afp/ebcdic)

Other / XML files
« on: November 01, 2012, 11:55:29 PM »
We have a customer that wants to save some documents as xml,
and view it in IE. I have used "User defined" and XML + Generic  in the application , and it looks like the documents are beeing stored, but when I try to view the documents in IE and
have IE up and running, the viewing of the document failed. When closing IE it will start, but it will not open the document. Any good ideas ?
Kind regards from Anne in Norway  :-)
