Content Navigator / CMOD Embedded SSO via ICN SAML Token
« on: July 27, 2021, 01:16:58 PM »
Has anyone had any issues migrating ICN/CMOD SSO via SAML from using the IBM SSO Plugin and ARSUSEC program to the built-in SSO feature CMOD now supports?
We have two clients configured on a single WAS system: one uses PingIdemtity and the other uses OKTA as their Identity Provider.
Both clients work using Plugin/ARSUSEC. The PingIdentity client also work on the new built in SSO, but the OKTA client gets an error when using the built-in method.  The issue is that the LTPA key for that browser session has expired.  The can successfully login, but when they try to open a folder is when they get the message about the expired LTPA key.

Any thoughts?

Content Navigator / Upgrading ICN
« on: July 27, 2020, 04:48:12 AM »
When upgrading ICN, since my database is already configured for ICN, do I need to run the script that is created in the modified directory?
Looking at this script it sets the navigator version to 3.0.1, even though we're running 3.0.7. It also updates task manager and sync services which we're not using.

Thanks

Report Indexing / PDF Indexing - Page Piece Dictionary
« on: February 11, 2020, 12:18:47 PM »
Just curious if anyone has performed some timing differences between normal PDF indexing (triggers and fields) versus CMOD indexes in the PDF Page Piece Dictionary?

We have some very large PDF files 500,000 - 1,000,000+ pages that currently take about 3-4 hours to index and load.

MP Server / PDF Indexer with large PDF files
« on: August 14, 2018, 11:25:21 AM »
I was just wondering what the largest PDF file, in terms of number of pages, anyone has processed.
and what is the timing for indexing these large PDF files.

Report Indexing / PDF Indexer of extremely large files - 1.2 million pages
« on: February 13, 2018, 11:50:04 AM »
Does anyone have metrics of PDF indexing of extremely large PDF files?
We're talking about files 1-2.4 GB and 800,000 to 1,200,000 pages per file.

Content Navigator / Hide Folder Descriptions in ICN
« on: May 17, 2017, 12:05:08 PM »
Does anyone know if there's an ODWEK Java API property equivalent to the old CGI 'FOLDERDESC'?
While on WEBi, which didn't show the folder description, a client requested that we add description text to the folder names.
Now on ICN the folder description is displayed and we're  showing redundant verbiage.

I'd rather not have to go through the exercise of renaming all the folders.

Thanks

MP Server / ARSADMIN DECOMPRESS - Large Objects

Has anyone figured out how to use the arsadmin decompress utility to decompress the entire storage object file (nFAAA$)?

MP Server / WARNING - ARSDOC GET -X <loadid> issues
« on: February 14, 2013, 05:25:11 AM »
I just wanted to let you know of a potential issue with the arsdoc get -X <loadid> command in that it may not extract all of the documents associated with the specified <loadid>.

the reason for this is that arsdoc get compares the index values that were originally loaded in the nFAA1 file with the current database values, if the values don't match, the document is excluded from the extraction.

IBM states that this is operating "as designed" and is not a bug, go figure.

So be warned, if you use the OnDemand32 Document Audit Facility (DAF), arsdoc update, or any other methods to update your index values in CMOD, you're at risk of not extracting all documents.

Other / Data Encryption CMOD MP and DB2
« on: November 25, 2008, 05:17:49 AM »
We have implemented the Vormetric CoreGuard product (recommended by IBM) to encrypt the file systems where CMOD MP cache and DB2 database files reside.  We have seen a dramatic drop in performance while running arsmaint data retention (4-5 times longer to run).

Has anyone else implemented file system level encryption?
If so, did you see similar performance issues and how did you resolve them?
Are there DB2 parameters that can be tuned?

FYI:
We have encountered a problem where the OnDemand32 windows client crashes during a search on a PC that has dual core CPUs. We're running CMOD on AIX v7.1.2.5 and 7.1.2.9.

Our first workaround was to disable the dual core functionality in the PCs BIOS settings.
A PMR was opened with IBM and an APAR is scheduled for the next release of 8.4 that corrects the problem.

However, after upgrading to 7.1.2.9, we tried enabling the server sort feature on the folder having problem and this corrects the issue
