Hello,
I searched the z/OS forum for any questions regarding recovering CMOD during a disaster exercise but couldn't find any.
My question is how do you "offload" your data from an exercise and then "restore" it.
With our current output management product we build new databases, and of course have the started tasks running during the exercise. Then when we are ready to shut down and offload the data we simply copy everything to tapes (virtual) and when we bring those tapes back to our production environment we have all of the output that got created during the exercise. Now I know that its up to each customer to create their own disaster recovery plan but I wanted to get some input on how others are doing it. Since CMOD uses DB2 databases there is a big difference in how we are currently doing it with our current product and how it needs to be done with CMOD.
I look forward to any assistance.
We are running CMOD 9.5.06 on z/OS 2.2 operating systems.
Thanks

Doug

z/OS Server / ARSMAINT and the -s parameter
« on: August 30, 2016, 06:03:43 AM »
Hello,

We are running CMOD 9.5.03 on z/OS operating systems.

When running our nightly ARSMAINT jobs on of the parameters we use is -s.

This is supposed to produce a report that contains status information about the cache storage file systems and saves the report in the system log.

By system log is that referring to the Client system log?

If yes how can I get that report to be produced in the ARSMAINT job log?

Thanks in advance

z/OS Server / CMOD 9.5 - .tmp files
« on: August 03, 2015, 06:23:43 AM »
Hello, We are running CMOD 9.5 on z/OS 2.1 operating systems.

Question - If I create new zFS .tmp files with different names and mount points would that cause any issues? Of course I would change the path in the ars.cfg file,  BPXPRMx0, and TEMPPATH= in arsyspin.
The reason for the change is to remove the version and release that is currently in all of our .tmp files.

Thanks in advance.

z/OS Server / ARSMAINT RC02
« on: May 08, 2015, 06:45:49 AM »
We are running CMOD 9.5 on z/OS 2.1. Our arsmaint job ended with a RC02 with no error messages in the job. We looked in the syslog and there were no messages
there either. Is this just a informational message? I reviewed the messages and codes manual but couldn't find any information on RC02.

Thanks in advance,

z/OS Server / stash file
« on: February 13, 2015, 06:09:58 AM »
Hello, Upgrading CMOD from 8.5 to 9.5. Since we skipped 9.0 this is the first time using the .stash file. I created the stash file using the arsstash command - arsstash -a 1 -c -s /etc/ars/ars.stash -u ZCMOD01D and was prompted for the password twice. The for arsload - arsstash -a 3 -s /etc/ars/ars.stash -u ZCMOD01D.
When displaying the password - arsstash -a 3 -s /etc/ars/ars.stash
the system reply:
Userid >ZCMOD01D< is currently assigned to >ARSLOAD<.

Running arsload in batch with no -u or -p   - ARS1607E The OnDemand stash file >< either does not exist or is not valid. Return Code=4. Also got the same error with the -u and -p on the parm statement with no userid or password specified. The stash file is in my ars.ini file as
SRVR_OD_STASH=/etc/ars/ars.stash.

Help please.......!

z/OS Server / ARS7813W when loading ivp definitions
« on: February 03, 2015, 12:47:37 PM »
When I executed the IVP task: Loading the IVP defintions on page 118 of the Configuration guide for CMOD 9.5 I received the ARS7813W warning message.
The messages and codes manual wasn't very helpful:

ARS7813W The attribute attribute for the object
object is set to count. This value may be
too small.
Explanation: Value for the specified attribute may be
too small.

Is this a value I need to change to a higher number and where is this value changed?
If I don't change it will it cause problems?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Ed,

I went to the link you had for Program Directories but couldn't find the one for FMID H272950  CM OnDemand OD MP: Base
Program Directory for IBM Content Manager OnDemand for z/OS, Version 9.5.

I did find the the IBM Content Manager OnDemand Distribution Facility for z/OS V9.5.0 - FMID J272952.

Hello,

When trying to load a report we are getting a CEE3611I LE message.

CEE3608I The following messages pertain to the invocation command run-time options.
CEE3611I The run-time option -V was an invalid run-time option or is not supported in this release of Language Environment.

We are running z/OS 2.1.

Has anyone else encountered this before?

Thanks

« on: December 17, 2014, 07:30:22 AM »
I am preparing to upgrade to CMOD 9.5.1 on our z/OS 2.1 operating systems. Are there release notes for 9.5? All I found on the CMOD 9.5 site was what's new.

Thanks in advance
