MP Server / Shutting down arssockd

   We upgraded to version 10.1.0.5 a few months ago and this weekend we had to shutdown arssockd so the servers could be patched.

We logged in as root and switced user to ARCHIVE but were not able to shutdown arssockd via the arssockd stop or the arssockd -T commands

We ended up having to kill the arssockd process.  We do not have the issue in CERT where we are at 10.1.0.6 instead of 10.1.0.5

I thought maybe the newest fixpack addressed the issue but after looking at the README I did not see any reference to it.

  Has anyone else experienced issues where the arssockd stop command does not shutdown CMOD ?

MP Server / CMOD File Size Limit

  We are going to be receiving some large PPD files to load into OnDemand (version 10.1.0.5)

What is the max file size that could be ingested into CMOD ?  I think I read somewhere that it was 50MB but want to confirm.

Windows Client / Display Document Location (Folder)

  Does anyone know if disabling the Display Document Location have much of an effect on performance.

I noticed most of our folders have it enabled but don't really see the need since all of our documents are cache storage.

Am I missing something ?

Windows Client / Send Option (File Menu) Grayed Out in WIN10/Outlook 365

  Last year we moved to WIN10 and Office 365.
The Send Option is grayed out under the File menu on the thick client.

  On our side we have tried both 32 and 64 bit clients and have default app settings to Outlook and MAPI is enabled.
We are using the most recent 10.1.0.5 client and we have tested against both 9.5.0.11 and 10.1.0.5 CMOD versions

We opened a case with IBM and after several months (they had to order Office365, etc.) they got back to us and stated that the Send option is grayed out for them as well.

  IBM is sending to their development team but stated it might be a Microsoft issue.

Has anyone else run into this?  I find it hard to believe we are their first customer to use WIN10 and Outlook 365 but again according to IBM support it does not work for them either.

Report Indexing / AFP files won't load

  We are in the process of upgrading from 9.5.0.11 to 10.1.0.5 and are currently testing sending different report formats to the 10.1 cert server.

  Line mode reports are loading with no issue but AFP files are failing with the APK448S error (indexing was requested but no trigger info was found, etc..). I verified the trigger info is there and the same files load into the same version of the app group/application on our 9.5 CMOD server with no issue.

  I am basically doing a dual load - sending the file(s) to both the 9.5 server and the other to the new 10.1 cert server.  The files load on the 9.5 server but fail on the 10.1 server.  The app groups/applications were copied from the 9.5 server to the 10.1 server so they are identical.
  I am stumped..  Anyone ever ran into this issue ?

MP Server / AIX vs Linux

  We are in the process of planning upgrade from CMOD 9.5 to 10.1

We currently run on AIX 7.1 but the UNIX team that are the OS admins want to move to Linux.  I am mainly just the CMOD application admin and admit I am no Unix expert but I always thought that AIX was king when it comes to performance and reliability. 

  We provide online banking customers with access to all their electronic statements and average around 35,500 concurrent users so performance and reliability are critical.

  Could anyone educate me on pros/cons of AIX vs Linux ?  I am not sure what advantage moving to Linux would provide other than maybe cost related ?

MP Server / User Login Activity - System Parameter

  Under general System Parameters we currently have login/logoff system logging turned off because of the volume of logins for external Web Banking customers, etc.  (Our logs were HUGE before we turned this logging off).

  If we wanted to disable users after 90 inactive days (User Login Activity section) would it still work since we have the system logging turned off ?

My initial guess is that it would since it still has Last Login information under the USERS information

MP Server / Calling PDF Indexing Guru's

  I have a file (attached and is not live data) that I need to only create an index for the MEMOSTMT pages (which is only 2 pages in the file) and not have the rest of the data in the index.  I have tried a couple things and I can get the one index but it contains more than just the 2 MEMOSTMT pages.  I am indexing on the small gray font at the bottom of Page 1.  I have also attached some indexing parameters I have tried.

  Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can filter out everything except for the 2 MEMOSTMT pages ? Is it even possible?

I am using the PDF indexer with X/Y coordinates and we are at 9.5.0.2

Any assistance or insight would be greatly appreciated.

MP Server / arsdoc delete command issue

 I am having a brain fart using the arsdoc delete command.  I know I must be missing a quote or something but I have tried a couple of variations and can't get it to work.  I am getting either the SQL0401N or the SQL0180N error.  The command I am entering is below..  What am I missing? The IDate is the AppGrp database name for the Index Date/Time Stamp and I got the values using the arsdate -z command.

arsdoc delete -u userid -p passwd -h ondemand -f "T E S T  Statements" -v -G TSTSTMT -i "WHERE AcctNo='123456789' AND IDate BETWEEN 1487930400 AND 1487934900"

MP Server / Disabled Users Reporting

 If you set a User Inactivity value under Login Information in the System Parameters is there a way to produce a report of disabled users in case you wanted to delete the disabled users ?

OD/WEK & JAVA API / AFP2PDF Transformer Workflow Chart

  Does anyone have any documentation or workflow charts on how the afp2pdf transformer works ?

I've been asked by new supervisor for workflow and was haven't found anything suitable with google search and would rather not start from scratch..

Anyone have any diagrams, etc. on how the afp2pdf transformer operates ?

OD/WEK & JAVA API / Can't view Document in ODWEK

Hi All - we just upgraded to 9.5.0.2 back in October and have been having problem opening a statement that is 5.53MB (1,076 pages).

The statement can be viewed via the thick client but you just get a blank screen if you try to view via ODWEK.

Has anyone ever seen anything like this?  I have opened a PMR and I will be doing a trace but wanted to see if anyone else has run into this ?

MP Server / No pages in 'C:

We recently upgraded from 8.5.0.8 to 9.5.0.2

I used to be able to do a reprint from CA-VIEW and send to OnDemand.

Now when I do so - it loads successfully but when you attempt to open the report it says - No pages in C:'\Users\pdpoart\Appdata\Roaming\IBM\Ondemand Client\DATA\D10-5d67c.A32'

Anyone ever seen this ?  The data is coming from the mainframe and not my C: drive
Never had this issue with previous versions of CMOD

MP Server / Maxhits Value

  I want to override the ODWEK limit of maxhits=200 for a specific folder.  I changed the value of the maximum hits field on the folder permisions page which is supposed to override all other values (which I assume means the value specified in the arswww.ini file).

However after I make the change and login via ODWEK I am still only getting 200 hits and not the value I specified on the folder permissions page.

Am I missing something?  Do I need to recycle arssockd to pick up the change ?

Windows Client / Error installing Thick Client on desktop

  I have run into an issue where I attempted to upgrade a users thick client install of admin/client from 8.4.1.6 to 8.5.0.7

Used the cd and went through the setup wizard and was successful but now user gets message that unable to connect even though all the server information was correct.

I tried removing and doing a reinstall, tried modify, and repair and still get the same error.  Last time also got a message stating GSGoKit was not installed.

Any ideas on how to resolve this ?
