Report Indexing / Setting up a NON indexed TRUE AFP report
« on: November 22, 2023, 04:15:49 AM »
Hello,

We have a user requesting to setup a true AFP data report to CMOD with NO indexing.  Has anyone ever done this before?  We believe there is one TLE record called DOC CNTL.  I've attached a sample screen shot for reference.

Content Navigator / Blank spaces between data rows
« on: August 23, 2023, 06:19:14 AM »
We have a user who has an issue viewing reports in Content Navigator.  Issue is when viewing any report, its now adding blank rows between data lines where there isnt any.  No other users are seeing this issue.  Hers started 2 months ago.  We've had her try Chrome and
Edge browsers and also clear browser and cache.  Neither corrected issue.  It appears isolated to her PC.  We are having her try another PC to see if it happens there also.  Just curious if anyone has any suggestions what can be looked at??

Report Indexing / Character removal question
« on: February 22, 2023, 09:14:51 AM »
Hi there...Stupid question...We see on the Application setup under the LOAD INFORMATION tab options for Character Removal (Leading, imbedded, trailing) for App Grp names.  We also see these options under the APP GRP setup under the FIELD INFORMATION tab.   If you wanted to incorporate these, where would set them, the APP setup, AppGrp setup or both?

Report Indexing / Adobe Acrobat Pro
« on: October 10, 2022, 04:08:03 AM »
Hello, when attempting to run the Report Wizard it appears it only works with Adobe Acrobat PRO to be installed on the PC.  We did have it at one time but the corporation no longer is letting it be installed on laptops.  Does anyone know of a workaround to get the Report Wizard to work without have Adobe Acrobat Pro??

Report Indexing / Posting date issue
« on: September 28, 2022, 05:51:29 AM »
Hello,

We currently are attempting to load a report that in itself contains different reports.  So the data isn't consistent at all.  The issue we have run into is trying to pull a date off the data for the POSTING DATE.  Its on every  PAGE 1 so we attempted to use PAGE 1 as a trigger then go down and get the date.  Unfortunately the date itself isnt always in the same position.  Most page just have the date (EX JULY 31, 2009), but other page have a range (July 01.2009 thru July 31, 2009).  When it hits those pages it errors.  Is there a way, using ACIF indexer to only use the FIRST page to pull the POSTING DATE? This is a mainframe data file we are ingesting.

MP Server / Converting mainframe Hex character
« on: July 12, 2022, 03:07:49 AM »
Hi,

We have a mainframe file loading to CMOD.  One of the mainframe characters is a | character (x'4F') .  When the file is loaded into CMOD, the character is converted to an ! character.   Does anyone know why this would be happening??

Report Indexing / Bad Character in data file
« on: March 09, 2022, 08:56:05 AM »
We have a file coming in that has a special character (A with a squiggly line above it) on an index field.  When this character is on the data it causes the file to fail (see below).  Once we edit the file and simply replace the A that had the line above it with a normal A, the file loads.  Has anyone else had issues with special characters and loading?

Row 2776:  The string "BWATER PURE AL TRD CO LTD  HSBCUS" has a length of 38 and the field has a maximum length of 37

Windows Client / Duplicate ids
« on: January 11, 2022, 08:10:56 AM »
Hello,

We recently have seen an issue where the system is allowing us to add an id to the database that is already defined.  In the past when we would try and do this, we'd get a message indicating "the user id or UID already exists".  Once the duplicate id is added, we cant do any changes to either id other than a delete.  It also wont allow the user to access their reports.  We are running CMOD ADMIN version 10.1.0.5

Windows Client / Duplicating users
« on: August 23, 2021, 09:35:03 AM »
Not sure if this is the correct forum....But here's our issue...

Currently we are using mainframe RACF password authentication for users to access CMOD. (Too long to type WHY this was done years ago by IBM)

In any event we are moving to a new server at our corporation and need to convert ALL user ids that are currently just defined in RACF to their LDAP user id.  This is approx. 800 users.

We are told we need to MANUALLY do this by bringing up their existing "old" RACF mainframe id and doing a COPY and adding their LDAP user id via the ADMINSTATOR session.  That way the keep all their current access that's now in place.

The issue we foresee is if more than one person attempts to do a copy at the same time, we will received the dreaded, "User id or UID already exists"  In this case it would be the UID because it appears if 2 people are attempting to add a new user at the same time, it tries to use the same UID number and this is the error you receive.

Does anyone know how to avoid this from happening so more than one person can be adding users at one time?

Appreciate any help or direction.

Windows Client / System Load
« on: May 18, 2021, 09:23:57 AM »
Can anyone explain on SYSTEM LOAD search where the information for DOC BEGIN DATE/DOC END DATE & START DATE and END DATE information gets pulled from? In searching the System Load we see MOST of these dates match the LOAD DATE but some do not? We discovered it by accident when trying to determine reports with bad posting dates.  Noticed when looking at the System Load these DOC  BEGIN/END and START /STOP DATES were showing really old dates.  Would it be getting these dates from the actual data?  And if so, how? Is it based off of the POSTING DATE that was defined?

Report Indexing / Application group question
« on: May 16, 2021, 05:03:15 PM »
Hello,

On the Application group, we defined a field called REPORT TITLE where the Database Value is the name of the Application and the Displayed value is the description of the report which then is shown in the folder definition under REPORT TITLE.   We have an Application group with several applications defined to it.  We found an issue with several POSTING DATE formats on numerous applications where the format was setup as %y/%m/%d but at some point the data was changed to be %d%m%y.   we have reports to store initially on CACHE for 7 days before migrating to So when ingested the posting dates are wrong which caused the reports to remain on CACHE instead of migrating to TSM for defined life of long term storage.  What we need to do is create new  definitions with the correct format.  But we also need to keep the existing applications so already loaded data can be accessed.  What we are looking to do is rename the current application definition to, as an example TEST-123.  We then would ADD a new REPORT TITLE database definition called TEST-NEW as the Database Value with the same displayed value as TEST-123.  We would then create a new Application name base of the original name of TEST-123 and use the TEST-NEW as the Application Group Indentifier.   My question is, would this work without causing issues with preloaded data?  And also, what exactly is that INDENTIFIER used for? I've attached a few screen shots for reference.  TY

MP Server / APPLICATION GROUP SETTINGS
« on: March 12, 2021, 07:42:22 AM »
Hello, we had a question from the end user looking to find WHO is viewing at their reports.  So would we want to check the RETRIEVAL box on the Application group and does that correspond to the Msg 66 in the message log?

Report Indexing / Loading large CSV using Generic indexer
« on: March 04, 2021, 07:35:49 AM »
We loaded a large test CSV file to CMOD.  File loaded successfully although the 87 message contained  this information:

Loading started, 570696197 bytes to process
Warning:  A document of size >570696197< bytes was processed.  It is not recommended to store documents in OnDemand greater than 50MB in size.  Although data may
OnDemand Load Id = >90353-10-0-1FAA-0-0-90354<
Loaded 1 rows into the database
Document compression type used - OD77.  Bytes Stored = >44760080< Rows = >1<
Loading completed

When the users attempted to view in Content Navigator they received this, FILE NOT LOADED COMPLETELY

Spreadsheet contained 1196248 rows but they were only able to see 1048576.

Does anyone know if CMOD has a limit to size it can ingest?

Windows Client / UNLOADING issue
« on: February 09, 2021, 07:10:03 AM »
We have run into an issue when attempting to do an UNLOAD of different APPLICATION GROUPS.  All our id's are defined as ADMINISTRATORS but when attempting to do an UNLOAD via System Load in the admin client we all get "The user is not permitted to perform the operation"  Any idea why?   We have performed this function many times on other unload attempts. So it appears to be a setting on these Application Groups

MP Server / Report Viewing
« on: January 27, 2021, 11:18:37 AM »
Not sure what best forum to post this.  We have received a request to provide a list of CMOD reports that haven't been viewed in the last 2 years.  Off hand not sure even how to approach this even if it can be done.  Currently we are ingesting mainframe reports which use both ACIF and OS/390 indexers.  We also ingest server to server reports.  Any thoughts or ideas how this maybe done.  Currently we have over 17600 reports defined to CMOD.
