Report Indexing / PDF Indexer - What platforms?
« on: September 22, 2015, 09:48:17 AM »
Several unanswered question came out of the Webinar.  Here are the questions and answers!

1. Is the PDF Indexer Multi-threaded?

V9.5 is multi-threaded, the older versions are not.

2. Does the PDF Indexer "run" in iSeries?  I know you can buy it as an option for iSeries, but does it run there?

Yes.  V9.5 runs the AIX executable in the iSeries PASE environment. Earlier versions run natively on iSeries.

Here is where the PDF Indexers runs:

     This is for CMOD V9.5:

zOS - no - deprecated
Windows - YES
zLinux - NO (RedHat & SUSE)
AIX - YES
Sun - YES
HP - NO ( CMOD on HP was deprecated a while ago )
Linux x86 - Redhat - YES
Linux x86 - SUSE - YES
iSeries - YES, runs in PASE

Attached is a document to help you add some new fields to applications to make your life a little easier.  These include, adding page counts, document size (in bytes), Document type, and Load Date/Time.  These extra fields can come in handy for administrators and uses.  Enjoy!  You can add these fields to exsisting applications, but remember, this is for newly added documents, it will not go back and update the documents already in CMOD.

Sorry Fred,  It is too difficult to have a three day webcast.  We are looking at expanding this Workshop, the one in Raleigh was a big success.  Where would you like to see a future workshop held?

MP Server / Re: Anyone doing PCI with CMOD?
« on: May 27, 2010, 11:19:04 AM »
Sorry I should have explained PCI Compliance:
Q: What is PCI?
A: The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a set of requirements designed to ensure that ALL companies that process, store or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment.  Essentially any merchant that has a Merchant ID (MID).
The Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) was launched on September 7, 2006 to manage the ongoing evolution of the Payment Card Industry (PCI) security standards with focus on improving payment account security throughout the transaction process.  The PCI DSS is administered and managed by the PCI SSC (www.pcisecuritystandards.org), an independent body that was created by the major payment card brands (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and JCB.).
It is important to note, the payment brands and acquirers are responsible for enforcing compliance, not the PCI council.
A copy of the PCI DSS is available here.
