z/OS Server / Load TIFF
« on: November 07, 2017, 10:51:09 PM »
Hello

We have received a request to load tiff files in our cmod system
We have only loaded Afp-data so far and have no experience with tiff.
We are in z /OS and use the thick client for viewing.
My questions are if it something to keep in mind for example
- When you load
- how the tiff files should be created
- when upgrading cmod
- how to use compression?
- is the thick client work well to view tiff document
- or anything else you see as a problem or to avoid problem.

I am grateful for any response that may make us avoid making unnecessary mistakes

z/OS Server / 'export' of all data from one OD-instance to another
« on: October 31, 2017, 05:03:17 AM »
Hi

We've been asked to do an 'export' of all data from one OD-instance to another.
We're using OAM to store the data, which all concludes of AFP-documents.

They want us to convert about 2500 Application groups, and have about 2.100.000 loads, which
is about 2TB of data in OAM.

I have 2 questions..

1) Does anyone have experience in doing such a conversion and would like to share the experience about
- What to consider ?
- How long time would we estimate for such an activity?
(We know that the time estimation includes tape wait/tape mount and so forth)

Did any of you get some help from IBM or any of IBM's business partner.

2) Is it anyone who has tried to use the new function in z/OS 2.3, using two
oam-plexes in the same lpar ?

WEBI interface / content navigator 2.0,3
« on: February 11, 2015, 05:04:58 AM »
Hi

We use OnDemand in  Z / os and the thin client to view documents.
Now we try to go over to the Content Navigator 2.0.3 in z / Linux and are using IE9 and have problems downloading documents. If we use Google Chrome, you only need to approve afp- plugin to make it work.

One of our windows techniques have wrote the following

After a lot of "trial and error" found the cause of IE prompt on "non-secure content". The setting which is why it is called the "Display Mixed Content" in IE Security Zone settings. It is no problem as long as the website is in zone "Local intranet" or "Trusted Sites", when it comes to the last one must actively enter the URL you a policy for it to end up in the zone. The first URL to use is no problem, it starts in the "Local Intranet" zone, but the browser window that opens with the AFP viewer does not. The window is located in the "Internet" zone and the zone has "Display Mixed Content" set to "Prompt". The setting will never be approved to change. Do you need to review how to take off the AFP Viewer is done, there must be some additional URL in your web application that calls the AFP.

is there anyone else who has had the same problem or know how to solve the problem

Best Regards
Jimmy
