z/OS Server / DB2 V12 and CMOD 8.5
« on: April 23, 2020, 07:05:03 AM »
Unfortunately we are in the situation of still running CMOD 8.5.  We are working to upgrade but are having challenges internally in getting it done with regards to getting the client rolled out before upgrading the z/OS side.  Another thing that is going on is that we are in the process of upgrading to DB2 V12.  I was just wondering if there is anyone may be in the same boat and if there are any none issues upgrading to DB2 V12 and still running CMDO 8.5.

Thanks
Tom

z/OS Server / Re: Loads Failing
« on: October 08, 2019, 07:58:33 AM »
Now we are seeing errors on prior reports that were loaded . . . .

Different RBA not found

ARS0020E $XTBE SM Error: ARSMVSRE: 0000000b(0000000c-6c030910) ODMP.  282
LL01.SGLL01.MLL01(RBA.L448816.FAAA), Return Code=11, Reason=0, File=
arssmsms.cpp, Line=1586  Srvr->Server IPAddress non-SSL<-

Seems to be isolated to Application Group   LL01.  And the old reports back prior to 8/17/2019 seem to be getting the error.

Thanks
Tom

« on: October 08, 2019, 05:59:26 AM »
We were thinking that the issue could possibly have been space related.  We did do a reorg of the databases.  Some of the messages related to RBA not found are no longer coming out.  The only one that remains is the one for ODMP.LL01.SGLL01.MLL01(RBA.R9).  I seem to recall an issue a while back about a resource that was not available or had been deleted and something about OnDemand would reload it but I do not remember the specifics.  I do see an entry in the DLL01.OSM_OBJ_DIR database for ODNAME=RBA.R9 but I don't see an entry in either of the DLL01.OSM_04K_OBJ_TBL or DLL01.OSM_32K_OBJ_TBL databases with a matching entry for OTNAME=RBA.R9.  Could this be the issue.

We are working on upgrading from 8.5.

Thanks
Tom

One thing I forgot to add was that this particular job has been loading successfully prior to this weekend.  The job runs every weekend.

Windows Client / Multiple Versions
« on: November 09, 2017, 01:31:58 PM »
We run the CMOD Server on z/OS and use the Windows client.  It looks like to me that with 10.1 you are able to have more than one (1) version of the client on a PC.  Is this true?  As I remember when installing it would remove the old and replace with the new.  I now see a folder with sub folders for 10.1 and 9.5.  If so would this also be true if the current version on the PC is 8.5?

Thanks
Tom

z/OS Server / Upgrading to Version 9.5 and Monarch Intergration
« on: September 05, 2017, 02:21:35 PM »
We have been working on upgrading to CMOD 9.5.  As part of this upgrade
we are upgrading the client software to 9.5.0.8.  We have uncovered an
issue were the Monarch software we use (versions 10 and 11) from
Datawatch no longer functions with the newer version of CMOD.  Does anyone
know what changes were made to the 9.5 version that may have caused this
to happened?

z/OS Server / Re: Passtickets in 9.5 with ACF2
« on: November 08, 2016, 07:56:13 AM »
Ed,

Thanks for the response.  I have seen that doc and believe we have done the steps.  The one that we are
thinking maybe an issue is the exit itself.  Are there changes required to use ACF2?  I am not an ASM heavy
and in looking at the exit cannot determine if changes are needed.  We use passtickets for another
application so I believe at the higher level we have the necessary infrastructure, so to speak, in place.
Hoping that there may be another CMOD user that uses ACF2 that could provide some info.

Thanks
Tom

z/OS Server / Passtickets in 9.5 with ACF2
« on: November 03, 2016, 02:00:22 PM »
Wondering if anyone has implemented passtickets in 9.5 using ACF2?  We haven't been able to get it working.

     - We have created the secured PTKTDATA secured sign-on profile for ARSSOCKD
     - Added the PTICKET and RESTRICT privileges to the user
     - Activated the default ARSPTGN exit with ARSSOCKD as the appl

We run a server started task and loader start tasks.  The server task comes up ok but I don't see any indication
that it did anything with regards to passtickets.  When I start the loader task it fails on a U0333 and indicates
it is trying to use a STASH file.

I have attached a WORD doc with some screen shots.

z/OS Server / Trying to replace ARSZOSHL with oshell
« on: October 25, 2016, 06:20:38 AM »
Just saw that ARSZOSHL is no longer available with 8.5.  When we converted to 8.5 we retrieved documents using ARSZOSHL (see below).  We tried to change it to use oshell but it is not working.  We don't seem to get a whole lot of information as to what the issue maybe.  Any help would be appreciated.

Ed,

So one of the old ways was to put the user/password in a file and use the -U to indicate the name of the file.
As that is not available is the only option to specify the user/password in the PARM field?

         -u userid -p password

Thanks
Tom
