iSeries / Re: Batch Retrieval of Tif Files using Arsdoc Get
« on: September 30, 2019, 09:01:42 AM »
Thank you guys so much for your quick responses!
Well if I right click and "Copy Document Data To File..." it stores the document to a tif file perfectly, it also displays the document natively in the OnDemand Client V10.1 perfectly.

Thanks for the information regarding the code page, it makes sense that it is for the index file only.

I had to provide 28 documents that happend to be stored as tiffs, I did manually it so there is no rush to come up with a solution, I just am trying to figure it out in case I need to do it on a larger scale next time I have a plan to provide quicker service.

The Kofax IBM Content Manager OnDemand Release script must be converting it?

iSeries / Batch Retrieval of Tif Files using Arsdoc Get
« on: September 27, 2019, 08:33:12 AM »
I'm using the Arsdoc get to extract a batch of Tiff files.  (not using the -c parameter so each file is separate )
The Application I am extracting them from also defines that they are indeed TIFF files that are stored there.  See attached image
Using a UNC connection (via IBM i NetServer) I copy them to my local desktop and add the TIF extension to my file.
We are loading the documents using Kofax, it loads them into a single out file and creates our ind file for us....  The Code Page is set to 01252(see second attachment)

When I attempt to open them it errors saying "the file is damaged, corrupted, or is too large."  (they are not very large 113kb, 257kb, 242kb, etc.)

Here is the header information of the Index file that was created by the arsdoc get command:

Report Indexing / Re: Version 10.1 new Unique ID fields
« on: April 17, 2018, 09:54:13 AM »
Thanks Ed, that was the answer I was looking for, I was hoping it would be available for the millions of existing documents we currently have, but it appears as though we will be unable to use this feature since it is only available for new documents loaded.  In order to be useful for us it would have to be usable for all our documents including previously loaded ones.

Report Indexing / Version 10.1 new Unique ID fields
« on: April 16, 2018, 03:44:46 PM »
Hi, we recently did an upgrade to OnDemand 10.1 and was excited to implement the Unique Document ID feature.
After looking into it more it appears as though it doesn't automatically identify them with a Unique Document ID, I have to add a new column and identify it as a "Unique ID" type.
Even after doing this the documents do not have an assigned Unique ID.

Do I have to do a mock update on each document in order to have a Unique ID assigned, or is there an easier way?

Thanks,
Greg

Hi, we are running CMOD for i version 7.1 and are looking at indexing PDF's.
I'd like to take advantage of PPD's however can't find the version of "CMOD for i" that this feature is supported. (It is clearly identifies that version 9.0 on multi-platform with improved benefits in 9.5 are supported https://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21664089).

If it makes any difference we would be running the PDF indexer on a windows box and loading them into our CMOD for i installation for storage.

And for major bonus points..... :-)
1. Doesn't the PDF indexer just create an index(.ind), resource(.res) and output(.out) files for the loaded PDF,
      a. If so why does it matter what version of CMOD a user is using?
             i. Does the format of the .ind,.out and .res change in newer versions of CMOD?

Thanks for any assistance you can offer.
All the best,
Greg

I am new to the forum so I'm a little late with the response. :-)   A couple ideas for webinars could be "Ingesting XML into CMOD" or  a "Tips, Tricks, and other topics" webinar?  I know that you've had these in the past however there is no recording of them.  I'd be excited to watch these.  BTW thanks for posting the webinars you do have posted, they are great!
