Report Indexing / Re: Break=YES vs Break=NO

CMOD is built for this sort of thing.

I'll remember this ;)

Report Indexing / Re: PDF indexing Failed
« on: October 29, 2018, 04:17:28 PM »
I've seen bookmarks cause issues indexing PDF files before, especially large ones. Try turning them off (if possible) and see what happens.

Edit- I remember this topic coming up at one of the CMOD roadshows with my client at the time (Dallas TX)

Report Indexing / Re: Break=YES vs Break=NO

Correct me if I am wrong, it has been a few years..

On something with that many fields, and Break=yes to all, wouldnt that take a LONG time to index? Depending on the file?

MP Server / Re: Changing retention for historical loads
« on: September 26, 2018, 05:33:30 AM »
If the expiration type is 'Load', then CMOD tells TSM to delete the object when it's eligible for deletion.  If the Expiration Type in the AG config is 'Segment' or 'Document', then the storage manager won't be instructed to delete objects, but will rely on it's own expiration.

Excellent, thanks

OD/WEK & JAVA API / Re: Connection cannot be established using ODWEK
« on: July 23, 2018, 09:37:55 AM »
Saw this EXACT issue a few years ago, when we were using different versions of CMOD and ODWEK.

We were on 8.5.0.6 CMOD, and 8.5.0.4.. might be worth looking into.

Perms on the directory being written to? I've ran into that a few times using trace on 8.5

z/OS Server / Re: CMOD Extraction of data
« on: July 03, 2018, 06:56:59 PM »
You need to run a series of arsdoc commands -- extracting data in batches.  Some of us have written such utilities to the point where it automates the extraction of all the data in a CMOD server with one command.   ;)

Do you have a sample syntax or am I over thinking this.. is it proprietary to your company?

ive always been curious about the proper supported way of doing this, gathering all information from app groups..once we get them downloaded we can easily load them. I am in a similar boat myself.

I am assuming something by date ranges and apps/appgroups into large chunks..

Is there a sample arsdoc get command that we can use for this? or is it a bunch of single ones too. I have often wondered this myself.

I had a second to look at this for you, heres the field youre going to want..Note there are samples in the xml dir..

[wasadmin@server xml]$ more ondemand.xsd | grep disable
      <xs:attribute name="disableUser"         type="yesnoString"     use="optional"/>
     <xs:attribute name="disableOrLockUser" type="disableOrLockUserValue" use="optional"/>
  <xs:simpleType name="disableOrLockUserValue">
[wasadmin@server xml]$ pwd
/opt/ibm/ondemand/V10.1/xml

soo..disableUser="yes" in an xml file, then just arsxml update to read it..should be a piece of cake.

I've just read through ondemand.xsd to figure out fields for arsxml, it can be tricky but not too bad.

arsxml should work.

Ive always ran ARSMAINT off hours due to behind the scenes work to the DB/Storage (Ive seen issues like yours in DR550 and Centera..)

Also- Check your system log for 65/226 records

ive seen that you have to actually have to draw the box a bit bigger than the field. I dont have any text based PDF files handy otherwise I would show you.

It's been like this since I started in CMOD..2009/2010..
