z/OS Server / Re: ARSLOAD Problem with Documents greater than 100 MB
« on: October 26, 2017, 06:07:16 AM »
This is strange since it looks like it is a generic index file you are trying to load.

What system is arsload running from? Is it local to the library server or is it on an obj/remote server (..or something..)

Note - No experience with Z/OS, but I have seen issues like this before, mostly in 8.4

Any hits in the system log for this?

Hi, what else is in the system log around this time frame.

Also, I am sure that others are going to reccomend to get off of 9.0.0.5 and get to the latest fixpack, or even move to 9.5 / 10.1

Hi,

I cant speak for virtual wintel instances of CMOD, but i've worked with pretty much only virtual instances of redhat/aix, and there was no performance concerns.

Report Indexing / Re: Error Using PPD for PDF Indexing for the first time

A quick glance at this - https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/1464881-adobe-acrobat-expected-a-number-object

Maybe someone can chime in, I am not 100% sure how the process works under the covers but it sonuds like your source system may have messed up when adding PPD's.

MP Server / Re: Possible to remove an Application Group Field ?
« on: October 24, 2017, 05:53:31 AM »
Hi JD,
Thanks for the reply.
The platform is Linux.

@jsquizz -  'Default it at the application level, and unmap the folder field, another option..' - I have already done this. And it gets difficult when I need to export Application from one environment to other. (other environment doesn't have this field in AG)
And I have to create the Application manually in other environments, and add a defaut value for this field.

And regarding creating a copy of Application Group - @JD was right. There is lot of data in the Application Group and I don't wish to migrate the data.

Sounds like ARSXML is your friend for this :)

Assuming maybe your business partners aren't sending that field anymore?

Default it at the application level, and unmap the folder field, another option..

How I do that -

right click app group - update, add an x or a .old at the end of the name - click ok -
right click app group - copy, remove the x or .old, remove the field
create application / folder mappings

A bit new to this, does this mean that my database has to be remote using db2 purescale, and the OnDemand servers simply need CMOD installed on them and configured with zookeeper, and the database cataloged of course..

Report Indexing / Indexing AFP with ACIF
« on: October 20, 2017, 05:57:52 AM »
I have used ACIF to index AFP's with TLEs, to do line data, etc.

I have a sample AFP file that indexes using NOPS ( Redacted anything i could..)

How do I go about defining the triggers for this type of file with Nops, since the AFP is a binary file. do I need to run arsafpd against it somehow?

My colleague does this mostly, but she copies existing and does the modification there. I want to know how to do this for my own referencem, since her reasoning of "This is how we have always done it" isnt flying :)

TRG is my trigger

can you try upgrading to the latest fixpack of 10.1 ? I believe it now has an HTML 5 line data viewer

MP Server / Re: connecting to new remote SQL server

I've only done one implementation on the windows platform a few years back, and I am 99% sure that was the backdoor way of doing it. Not sure if that would be supported tho.
