I did set the maxhits for the user and it works when logging in via CMOD but ODWEK does not pick up the change - still limits to 200 hits.

It took the change to the maxhits in thick client but is still only allowing 200 hits in odwek. I thought the folder permisions max hits was supposed to override what was specified in the arswww.ini file ?

I want to override the ODWEK limit of maxhits=200 for a specific folder. I changed the value of the maximum hits field on the folder permisions page which is supposed to override all other values (which I assume means the value specified in the arswww.ini file).
However after I make the change and login via ODWEK I am still only getting 200 hits and not the value I specified on the folder permissions page.
Am I missing something? Do I need to recycle arssockd to pick up the change ?

Just thought I would update what the fix was in case anyone else runs into this.
I had to run th GSkit installer selecting the repair option.
The white paper below indicates it is known issue with Windows 7 but we experienced it on Windows XP SP3

Windows Client / Error installing Thick Client on desktop

I have run into an issue where I attempted to upgrade a users thick client install of admin/client from 8.4.1.6 to 8.5.0.7
Used the cd and went through the setup wizard and was successful but now user gets message that unable to connect even though all the server information was correct.
I tried removing and doing a reinstall, tried modify, and repair and still get the same error. Last time also got a message stating GSGoKit was not installed.
Any ideas on how to resolve this ?

Right - I understand but I have the fonts used mapped to the proper font configuration files. It is not displaying some spaces in between words bu the spaces are there in ODWEK

I have some letters created via OGL (Overlay Generation Language) that I have loaded into CMOD. In the thick client some of the characters in the letter are overlaid but when you view the same letter via ODWEK it displays correctly.
We are using 8.5.0.7 and I assume it must be an applcation setting I have wrong but Ihave not been able to figue it out.
Anyone run into this or know what the issue might be ?

MP Server / AFP2HTML Viewer Applet being Deprecated in Version 9 ?

I noticed that in Version 9 the AFP2HTML Viewer Applet is being deprecated.
Can anyone tell me exactly what that means? Does it mean that viewing of HTML will no longer be supported or that there will just be a different viewer applet for HTML ?

It is fine in the thin client but I was thinking that since the fonts/character sets were embedded in the AFP file and I had RESTYPE=ALL that I would not need to specfy a resource library for the character sets but looks like my thinking was wrong..

Thanks Justin - that worked for the psegs. A still getting the character set not found in csdef file in the thick client but looks like it is displaying correctly.

I have received a fully composed AFP file from a vendor and it has some character sets and resources embeded in the AFP file. When I load the file get messeages that character sets and pseg can't be found.
How do I code the index parameters so it uses the embedded resources and that it does not look for them in resource library.
I assume it is something I don't have right with the reslib and restype. Below are my index parameters - can anyone help me out?

I have alot of large older documents that are no longer needed. If I run an arsdoc delete on these documents would it also free up the space/cache they were using ?

MP Server / Recommended Inactivity Time Out Setting

Is there a recommended inactivity timeout setting in the system parameters. Currently have it set to '30' minutes but our average number of concurrent users has almost tripled in the last 2 years and I was wondering if lowering the value by a few minutes might reduce concurrent users and improve performance.... or would it not make much difference ?
