MP Server / Re: CMOD ICN viewer issue
« on: July 29, 2021, 12:51:38 PM »
There are a couple good google hits that look promising for CWWIM4537E:

This one talks about ICN:  https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/login-fails-because-virtual-member-manager-cannot-find-user-cwwim4537e

This one talks about looking at a trace to resolve the issue:  https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/login-fails-because-virtual-member-manager-cannot-find-user-cwwim4537e

Either of those help?

Ed

Joe - thanks for posting the resolution.  I never would have figured that one out.

I'm guessing - and this is just a guess - that some storage set has been inadvertently deleted.

If you can figure out the node id and do a mapping to the arsnode table then that may signal to you in advance what to avoid retrieving.

> I would like to know if problematic documents can be rescued or not.

Can't help on that one, and am not hopeful.

Maybe if you come up to a supported release and open a PMR somebody may have a trick up their sleeve, but my confidence level is low.

Does it help if fewer documents are retrieved per query?

When I google on TYPE OF RESOURCE 00000302 it says table space page is the problem.

Looked at a few old records that had the same error code (-911) and the answer has always been that the DBAs need to drill down to figure out what the problem is, that the application coder usually doesn't have the visibility within the system to determine what the problem could be.

Announcements & News / Re: CMOD v10.1 to v10.5
« on: July 12, 2021, 01:35:07 PM »
We are planning on getting CMOD 10.5 up on our test system and was wondering if anyone has any tips or advice for this upgrade?  A checklist of things to look out for or a heads up on issues you had. Does the data structure from 10.1 carry over to 10.5?

Thanks in advance,
Mark

The 10.1 -> 10.5 should be relatively painless.  You have the readme in hand, right?  No database table changes.

I'm out of bullets.  Better open a problem record.

The 10.5.0.2 client has an updated AFP Viewer and fixes some other AFP issues.

I'd try that before I'd do anything else.

z/OS Server / Re: 10.1 Release Notes

Is this still the case. We have other problems with 10.1, OAM issues, but not S0C1.
Release                  z/OS 2.1.0 (SPLevel 7.2.1)

Yes.  I hope you can get to z/OS 2.2.0 soon.

Hmmmm - from the 9.0 readme:

2.2.9.0.0.5) Release (9.0.0.5)
           ...
PI10297 - Arsload can crash when indexing PDF files larger than 150MB

Hmmm - just a guess but it looks like 8.5.0.5 came out in 2012/05/11.

And what we're talking about is something on top of (newer than) 8.5.0.5?

9.0.0.1 came out in 2013-02-05 so one would think it would be in there.

Taking a look at the V9.0 readme...

https://cmod.wiki/dox/CMOD-v9.0-README.txt

...is there an APAR number associated with this hotfix?

Confessing that I know next-to-nothing about Linux, I was curious so I did a quick google on redhat7 performance and found this:

https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/7/pdf/performance_tuning_guide/red_hat_enterprise_linux-7-performance_tuning_guide-en-us.pdf

Whew!  Too many ways to monitor or knobs to turn for me!

> One of our SA's suggested rolling back the RHEL kernel to 7.8, due to some major features added in 7.9. We did that overnight, and sure enough when I logged on this morning, no bueno.

That means that didn't help?  That you're seeing the same symptoms?

MP Server / Re: Unable to start CMOD V10.5 after upgrade from V9.5
« on: June 02, 2021, 02:42:51 PM »

We also didn't want to wait. Ha! We re-ran all four steps to "remassage" the 9.5 tables.

It magically worked. Not sure what happened there.. strange

If you want a possible explanation I'd wager that the arsdb command used was the 9.5 version, not the 10.5 version.

Do you suspect a defect that things are getting deleted that should?

Are you also deleting indexes?

https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/cmofm/10.5.0?topic=arsmaint-parameters

-c
Expires files from cache storage. Most customers should plan to schedule the ARSMAINT program to expire files every day.
-d
Expires indexes from the Content Manager OnDemand database. Most customers should plan to schedule the ARSMAINT program to expire indexes every day.
