Windows Client / Application Delete Issue
« on: January 19, 2018, 11:14:24 AM »
Hi,  We were attempting to do some cleanup of unneeded applications from our system. We used the Admin Client to simply highlight them and do a delete.  When IBM did our conversion to CMOD years ago, they included many different applications under the same application group if they all had the same retention, indexing requirements..What we found is, if one of these applications was deleted that was also defined to an application group that had many other applications defined to it, after the deletion, on the folder itself, ALL the remaining applications on that application group were mapped to that folder of the application that was deleted..So as an example, Application Group called TEST had Applications A, B, C, D,E and F...We deleted Application A..Prior to deletion, on the folder for Application A, it would show the TEST application group and when you clicked on the Applications button it would show only the "A" application under "Applications in the Folder" box and the B, C, D, E and F applications were showing in the Applications box on the left..What we found was after Application A was deleted, it was removed from the Applications in the Folder box and the B, C, D, E and F
were moved over automatically..So anyone going into the Folder of Application A was now seeing ALL the reports for the other applications because they shared the same App Grp...In contacting IBM, they're response was that shouldn't happen and it must be a "Bug"...Curious of anyone else has ever seen this situation..We are running Admin Client 9.5.....But we also had a machine still running 8.4 and had the same issue,

Content Navigator / AFP data alignment issue
« on: December 11, 2017, 09:18:48 AM »
We have an application loading 'True' afp data into CMOD....We have been using IBM Webi for viewing..Have no issues there..Recently began testing with Content Navigator...Users reports an issue when viewing this AFP report...It appears every other page has alignment issues...The pages with alignment issues the data is moving up one line......It appears with it being data, it would be related to a Pagedef...The 'boxes' on the form (formdef) remains in the same position...Its the data itself that is shifting every other page...Has anyone else encountered data alignment issues with Content Navigator?..As indicated, same exact version is viewed fine in Webi

Report Indexing / PDF Report wizard
« on: November 07, 2017, 11:25:47 AM »
One of our admins is having issues using the PDF report wizard...After opening sample PDF from the CMOD Admin client, when the attempts to highlight the data (by clicking on and holding down mouse button on the upper left and dragging across to bottom right) it shows dotted lines around data...But after releasing mouse button, instead of it highlighting it with a black box, nothing happens....We are running Adobe Acrobate XI pro....We verified that the arspdf32.api is in the Adobe 11.0 acrobat plug-in folder...He is able to view PDFs from the CMOD client...Only issue is running through the wizard...We're running version 9.5.0 admin client...Any ideas what we maybe missing to check???

Report Indexing / ACIF Indexer and Posting Date
« on: October 17, 2017, 04:42:57 AM »
Hi, we are ATTEMPTING to convert reports we have defined using the "old" OS390 indexer to ACIF Indexer...The issue we are having is, these reports want to use a Posting Date on the data.  Unfortunately the date isn't on every page of the report which we believe the ACIF indexer requires.  Is that correct?  If so, is there ANY way of converting these reports to ACIF and using the date on the data?

MP Server / CMOD CLEANUP
« on: September 05, 2017, 10:12:58 AM »
Hi,  We're in the process of attempting to cleanup non-active applications.  Our systems group has provided us a huge list they were able to retrieve of those applications not having anything loaded to them.  What we found was, during the cleanup, we found applications that were sending data to CMOD that would load one day, and get removed the very next day due to that actual data having dates older than the set retention being used..So as an example, if the retention was set for 7 years, and if the application was using a  POSTING DATE off the data and that date was going back further than 7 years, ARSMAINT was removing the version automatically...With the removal of the application, this causes us to receive 88 messages.  Just curious of there is ANY way of determining, ahead of time, what other applications are doing this so we can reach out to them to verify if the application id can be removed from CMOD.

MP Server / Folder Searches
« on: July 06, 2017, 06:00:25 AM »
Not sure what category to post this question under....

Does anyone know if there's a capability to be able to do a search across multiple Folders that are indexed the same?...We have an application that is creating multiple folders loading PDF's.  They are being indexe off of a client name.  These clients may be found across multiple folders.  They asked if there was a way to do a search, say on JOHN DOE and it bring up a listing of all the folders that contained that name.  We're thinking this isn't possible.  Initially we thought maybe if we created a CABINET and added these folders to it, then there maybe a way to do a search from there. Doesn't appear that's the case.  So just asking of anyone knows if this is possible.  Appreciate any info.  Take care...Dave

Report Indexing / Ingesting a large CSV file..Need HELP!...
« on: June 22, 2017, 04:50:32 AM »
We are currently ingesting a CSV file using the Generic Indexer.  Applications sends us a data file (.OUT) and then a Index (.IND) and Trigger...With this being a CSV file, there is no indexing being done...Here is the .ind file
CODEPAGE:819
GROUP_OFFSET:0
GROUP_LENGTH:0
GROUP_FILENAME:/prod/ode/cmod/arsload4/MM0IA711.MM0IA711.ARD.OUT

What we are seeing is it will fail with this type of error,  Unable to read from offset 0 for length 3372275922 from the file >/prod/ode/cmod/arsload4/MM0IA711.MM0IA711.ARD.OUT<
Guessing this is due to the size??

It will occasionally load but when we look at the 87 message, we see this, Warning:  A document of size >386292596< bytes was processed.  It is not recommended to store documents in OnDemand greater than 50MB in size.  Although data may store successfully, it is possible that the data may not be able to be retrieve

Is there a setting we can change on the Application?...Normally we would check LARGE OBJECT but I believe this is only for ACIF indexer

Appreciate any help or suggestions

Report Indexing / OS390 under version 9.5
« on: June 01, 2017, 03:08:01 AM »
We are attempting to upgrade to 9.5.  we have numerous applications defined with -V## at the end.  The V## number changed when there was something updated on the application.  In current production (8.5) when we run the ingestion jobs, we just need to input the application name and not include the -V##.  Somewhere it knows to use the latest application version.  Assuming its in some table?? But in testing ingestion of mainframe files using OS/390, the JCL we run for testing requires us to input the Application with the -V##.  Below is a screen shot of part of the JCL.  As you can see, the RPT12 indicated DLRACCT-V11.  This is the latest Application id.  If the -V11 isn't included, ingestion fails not finding the application id.  In current production, we aren't required to include the -V11.  It knows to go to the latest version.  Does anyone know where this information is stored on the server and what is needed on the JCL to automatically use the latest application version?

STEP1 EXEC PODA30SU,RPTID=DLRACCNT,
      RPTDSN=XAUT01.ODA.DLRACCNT,
      RPTI2='DLRACCNT-V11',
      AG='PDOC06009'

Windows Client / Load numbers
« on: February 14, 2017, 08:54:13 AM »
Hello, we are currently running to loads (OS390 and ACIF)  Due to the type of old mainframe data, when we first converted to On Demand, IBM found most reports would only load due to the type of data that was coming from the mainframe.. Primary reason was because of using the POSTING DATE.  ACIF requires the date to be on every page where as OS/390 does not.  The applications themselves do not, or will not modify their data. So in order to complete the conversion, most setups were done using OS390.  What we're attempting to do is to try and determine the number of OS390 loads and ACIF loads.  Maybe over a 1 month span.   We can use the SYSTEM LOAD option on the ADMIN client to retrieve the ACIF load total.  In running a search, that number is over 110,000 total loads.  When attempting to do a "Copy" of the application column in order to then paste it into a spreadsheet in order to removed the duplicates, the COPY just hangs.  Anyone know of a better way to get these numbers?  We still though need to get the same totals (over the same month period) for the OS/390 loads.  Not sure what the best method to use for this.  Again, anyone have any thoughts?  Appreciate any help

MP Server / OS390 indexer
« on: January 11, 2017, 06:39:13 AM »
Not sure where to post this question...Apologies if this isn't the correct forum...

Here is our issue...We collect NUMEROUS reports from the mainframe into OnDemand (version 8.5.06).  The jobs execute on the mainframe and then get collected into CMOD.  Most of the reports coming from the mainframe incorporate the OS390 indexer due to the fact that these are old mainframe based reports and the ACIF indexer wouldn't work.  The conversion to CMOD was primarily handled by IBM.  We are TRYING to determine how the out for these OS390 reports is getting from the mainframe to CMOD. Basically need to know, when the mainframe job runs and creates the output, where on the mainframe is it sent to, and then what CMOD process that is running "PULLS" that output off the mainframe and into CMOD.  We know the ACIF defined reports use the ARSLOAD process pointing to our ARSLOAD directories on the CMOD server.  But for the OS390 reports, its harder to determine...Below is a screen shot of a successful OS390 load (message 87). Anyone else using this type of process to collect mainframe data?

MP Server / Mainframe job abend
« on: December 05, 2016, 09:51:53 AM »
Not sure what category this should go in..Apologies if this isn't the correct one..

Here is our issue..We collect many reports into CMOD via mainframe jobs.  These jobs run under PODA* prefixes and can have multiple steps going to different reports within CMOD.  Each step contains the CMOD report id as well as an input dataset name. Lately we have been getting many PODA* job abends with the message below.  What we've found is the step that is abending, when we look, the input dataset is there.  All we do is have the PODA job restarted at the step that it abended on initially and completes successfully..We've had abends before where the is NO dataset found which causes the PODA job to abend with an "input not found" message.  These abends are different..We're just not sure why they all of a sudden are happening...It's across different PODA jobs..Anyone have any thoughts?
