TSM 7.1
« on: May 14, 2014, 07:10:01 AM »
Question:  Can I have CMOD and DB2 (CMOD's DB2) running on an AIX server and have TSM 7.1 run on a linux server?  If so , are there utilities that can extract and insert from TSM's current 5.5 database (AIX) to TSM's DB2 database (Linux)?

Yes, and as for server-to-server migrations, you'll probably need to do an export/import of the server...  It will require a lot of both time and storage to complete it.

The good news is that you can have multiple TSM servers in CMOD 9.x and higher.  You might be able to leave your legacy system in place a little longer (until it's substantially smaller) and start from scratch on a new one.
