Curriculum Overview Basic Class:
This is the foundation course for individuals interested in learning about the major functions of the IBM CMOD system. The course starts with a basic overview of the system, and then teaches students how to:

• Create and maintain CMOD objects such as applications, application groups, and folders
• Index, load, and retrieve various types of documents and report files in a CMOD system

Curriculum Overview Advanced Class:

The advanced self-paced course builds on the foundational and prerequisite course “IBM Content Manager OnDemand Administration” by providing system administration concepts for the IBM Content Manager OnDemand (CMOD) solution. It provides students with a thorough understanding of CMOD architecture and system object concepts as well as storage administration, document storage and indexing components such as the PDF Indexer, OS/390 Indexer and the new XML Indexer. The course also covers CMOD database configurations, command utilities, CMOD server APIs and the CMOD Web Enablement Kit (ODWEK). After completing this course, students will be able to:

• Effectively use the ARSADMIN, ARSDOC, and ARSMAINT command utilities
• Use the ARSXML command utility to export and import OnDemand objects including managing users and user groups
• Configure and leverage the XML indexer and the PDF indexer
• Understand when to use the OS/390 indexer versus the CMOD ACIF indexer.
• Access and query the OnDemand database tables and application group (index) tables for managing and monitoring the system
• Understand the concepts and capabilities of the Enhanced Retention Management and Full-Text Search features
