WEBI Zoom for Data Viewer Applet
« on: March 23, 2016, 09:34:24 AM »
Hello CMOD Community,

We are using IBM Content Navigator web client to do searches.

When we choose a document to view from the hit list, the IBM OnDemand Line Data View Applet, Version 9.0.0.3 opens up.

The document is a standard 133 column wide mainframe line printer listing.

In order to make both the left and right margins visible simultaneously, i.e. without using the horizontal slider, we must maximize the applet window, then choose the magnifying glass icon and set zoom to a custom setting of 67%.

Is there any way to make the default zoom setting for this applet be 67 per cent ???

I have toyed with the horizontal and vertical split screen icons, and those do not help here.

Let me know if there is a patch or option somewhere.

If not, let me know ifyou recommend this be submitted as an Enhancement Request.

Thanks,

CMODWiz

Hello CMOD Community,

Some more thoughts:

1.  Does IBM provide the JAVA source code for their IBM OnDemand Line Data View Applet 9.0.0.3             ???

If so, then perhaps we could modify it and recreate the executable applet to suit our needs.

If not, then:

2.  Is a licensed CMOD/ICN/ODWEK shop expected to use the ODWEK API to develop their own Viewer to suit their particular needs?

If no to both of the above, then this ought to be an Enhancement Request for IBM to act upon.

Thanks,

Signed,

CMODWiz

This topic should have been entitled, Zoom for Data Viewer Applet in ICN.

CMOD / ICN Community:

I invite your replies to this topic, no matter how inconsequential.

My main concern is:  do I have it all wrong?   :-\ Should I already know what to do?

Let me hear it!   :'(

I wish the Java source were supplied, but apparently it is not.

Shall this posting be converted into an IBM enhancement request to CMOD / ICN ?

Sincerely,

CMODWiz

If you were to submit an Enhancement, I'd suggest that it read something like:  "Enable a choice of default zooms in the line data applet"  and one of those choices (if not the default) should be 'Fit to Window'.  :)
