PDF Files containiong PPD indexes

We have recenlty asked a vendor if they can supply large PDF files ( 1 GB ) and insert PPD's ( personal-piece dictionary ) indexing values.  I hear this is an efficient was to injest PDF data into OnDemand.

My question is if anyone has experience with or is currently doing this.  I specifically like to know the pros and cons of using this method, any errors or problems you've run into and how to avoud them.  Over all experience.

Hello Wayne,

I setup PPD for PDF with Opentext Exstream Tool, it works fine in CMOD indexing in Windows, IBM says its best performance is in Windows CMOD.

Deployment Issues:

1.   IBM comments: It is not recommended to have PDF Output greater than 4Gb, in my tests I send errors with files smaller than 4GB, solve this generating output of 15,000 pages.

Beneficious:

1. Storage AFP vs. PDF, is similar.
2. Time generation AFP vs. PDF PPD in Exstream, PDF PPD is more faster.
3. Time Indexing AFP vs. PDF in CMOD, AFP is more faster.
4. Adding time the indexing and generation, PDF PPD is more faster.
5. No AFP2PDF license Required.
