Hi ODUG,

Our Environment below:
Client is a published application from Citrix servers that are Windows 2000 sp4.
OnDemand Server is on z/OS 1.8 - version of OnDemand server is 7.1.2.9.
We have a intermittent problem with the client hanging or closing when a user (F5) refreshes the folders, performs a search or prints. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. There does not seem to be anything common between the users problems as far as specific folders or anything.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I called in a pmr with IBM and they recommended we upgrade from the client from 8.4.0.1 to 8.4.0.2 but we have the same results.

Installing Client 8.4.0.2 solved our "hang" problems.  We are also z/OS 1.8 and OD server 7.1.2.9.  We launch the client right from Windows.

Could the old client be getting deployed? Can you verify the client level?

Do you use the client through Citrix at all?
Most of our users use OnDemand client as a published application through Citrix. They have the issue of the client "hanging" or closing when printing or searching, but not every time.

Hi,

We're also having an issue on citrix servers.  Currently we're running client v7.1.2.8 and my users are experiencing crashing/hanging of the thick client when deployed on citrix.

Does anyone successfully use citrix to deploy the thick client?

Hi!

Try applying fixpack 8.4.0.3, this fixpack will fix problem OD with dual-core+ machine as following APAR:       

PK43881 - OD client might crash accessing fldrs on multi CPU HW
            - Manage threads for dual core processor during hitlist creation
