Upgrade to 9.5 on mainframe error
« on: February 25, 2018, 07:59:54 AM »
Our systems area upgraded to 9.5 on the mainframe....now we are seeing the below error in the 88msg

ARS5471E The following message was returned from the OS/390 indexer (ARSZSTDR error_message = ARS5419E No documents found - input exhausted.
ARS5476E The OS/390 indexer failed with the specified return code. (Arsl390 return code is 10).

The same jobs that contain ACIF loads work.....

Any thoughts?>

DDP021 - I believe you've hit this problem:

PI45584

PROBLEM SUMMARY:
****************************************************************
* USERS AFFECTED: All users of the 390 indexer at V9.0 and above
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: arsload fails with:                     *
*                      ARS5419E No documents found -           *
*                      input exhausted.                        *
*                                                              *
*                      When the document contains binary       *
*                      zeros for a field.                      *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
****************************************************************
ARSPSTOR was treating an omitted INITVAL as if
INITVAL(x'00...00') had been specified.  If the field in the
first document contains binary zeros, the 390 indexer
does not detect the first document.  If that first document
is the only document in the report, no documents will be
detected.

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
ARSPSTOR is changed to correctly deal with an omitted INITVAL

In CMOD V9.5 this was fixed by PTF UI29864.

Do you have that PTF on your system?
