Normally I do it the other way around. If the DR server is idle, I test out the config on that, run some tests, and if it works, promote it to production.
What's the issue you're trying to resolve?
And just throwing this out there... If you're trying to tune TSM for performance, you're doing it wrong -- in all but the most exceptional cases (audits/lawsuits/fraud investigations), those documents should be coming from cache.
Give me a call if you want some help optimizing the cache to contain more of the documents you need, and less of the documents you don't.
