PDF indexing Failed
« on: October 26, 2018, 12:55:09 PM »
I am trying to load a PDF and I am getting the errors below.  I have searched the web and knowledge base which points me to ARS4924E.    I don't think it is a space issue but I have my linux admin investigating.  The messages on the web all point to Adobe.  We split the file up and it archives successfully.  This is holding up the production implementation so I am diligently trying to figure it out.

: ARS4902I Number of input pages = 7920
: ARS4923E CosDocSaveToFile error code 537002019 Dictionary keys must be direct name objects.
: ARS4936E Resource extraction failed.
: ARS4922I ARSPDOCI 9.5.0.6 completed code 1

7,920 pages, how many bytes?

First thing I'd do is verify that the TEMPDIR directory contains sufficient free space to process the input file.

Second thing I'd do is get current, 9.5.0.6 is a little old.  9.5.0.12 would be preferable.

Thanks, Ed.

We are in the processes of upgrading our environments.

We were aware of the resource temp files but were struggling to determine what changed to cause the issue.  We discovered that there were changes make to the bookmarks that significantly increase their length as compared to other documents we archive.  Once the length of the bookmark was decreased, we were able to ingest the report.

Thank you again!!

I've seen bookmarks cause issues indexing PDF files before, especially large ones. Try turning them off (if possible) and see what happens.

Edit- I remember this topic coming up at one of the CMOD roadshows with my client at the time (Dallas TX)
