Embedded fonts in AFP-filer to CMOD
« on: May 09, 2019, 02:35:29 AM »
Hi

My customer wants to add embedded fonts, and wants to know which is the easiest (and fastest way) to do it :
1. add the embedded font in side the afp file
2. add the New font as a Resource in CMOD

I thought that the fastes way was to add the font into reslib .. but my supplier removed my root Access so I Guess the fastes way would be to add the font inside the afp file

Or ?

I added the font in the reslib, but what do I do to make sure that this New font will be added/taken in use

I had a requirement come through last year for a file that comes from exstream, they placed all the fonts in the file. It was easy to do.

You could upload them to reslib and then point your indexing settings to them also, we do that for older things.

Hej Anne!  :)

Two things...

In ACIF indexing parameters, RESTYPE=ALL to ensure the new fonts get put into the resource bundle.

In the Application configuration, set Resource Compares to the maximum, 9999.

These two items will prevent some of the problems that we experienced during your last migration.

I have changed the restype to RESTYPE=ALL, but where do I set the Resource Compares ?

Just one question more  ::)

The customer added the font file into the AFP file and it looks like it Works great.
But when they try to view it in the old Client (installed on the computer) they get a error Message which says that the fontfile they added is not in the csdef.fnt Library.
Do we have to install and shuffel it out to all the Clients or will this automaticly work in ICN ?

Needs to be mapped in the client, and rolled out to desktops.  Not sure how ICN handles this.
