Installation Walkthrough

Has anyone documented the Installation of WEBi on a Windows system? And would they be willing to share their installation experiences. It looks like you need to install
1) WebSphere Application Server
2) ODWEK
3) WEBi
I have no clue on the configuring of all this software to work with OnDemand 8.4 for Windows.
Should I get the new set of CD?s for IBM Content Manager OnDemand for Multiplatforms Version 8.4.1 first, or just patch my version of 8.4?
I have WebSphere Application Server v6.0, Web Enablement Kit (ODWEK) v8.4, Web Interface for Content Management (WEBi) v1.0.1
I have OnDemand v8.4 setup and running on on a Windows Server 2003
Can anyone help?

I haven't documented it but have done it quite a few times and in DBCS to boot.  Suggest you use WebSphere Application Server 6.1, ODWEK 8.4.1, WEBi 1.03.  WEBi on previous versions has serious problems with performance and quite a few bugs.  1.03 seems a lot better.  The themes and logos have changed a bit as well, so you're better off doing it all on the latest.
This is all documented in the CMOD 8.4.1 Information Centre at;

http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/cmod/v8r4m1/topic/com.ibm.ciwbi.doc/cdnwi121.htm

I am presuming you are just setting this up to test, so you should probably skip the HTTP server at this stage.

What is the new CD called for Web Enablement Kit (ODWEK)
I have received a new set of 8.4.1 CD's but Web Enablement Kit is not one of them. I have one called Content Manager Enterprise Edition eClient Version 8.4.1.... is this the ODWEK cd?

No.  This is eClient which is another client search and retrieval program, but is more geared towards CM (although we do have one running live for OD connections).  It is really being superseded by WEBi.

If you don't have it, you should be able to download it from Passport Advantage (or Partnerworld if you have a membership).

The CD should be marked something like;

DB2 Content Manager OnDemand Web Enablement Kit 8.4.1.

Ok...I finally got this to work...it was really pretty simple.
This is how I did it on a test box.

1) Update Server 2003 to Service Pack 2
2) Install Java Runtime Environment (JRE)
3) Install WebSphere Application Server 6.1
     a) I choose to install the sample applications
     b) I choose not to Enable administrative security
all the rest I went with the defaults
4) Install ODWEK
     a) I choose all the defaults
5) Install HTTP Server
     a) Windows Service Definition use an Administrator user account
     b) HTTP Administration Server Authentication key in a new user account - the install creates it
     c) all the rest I choose all the defaults
6) Install WEBi
      a) WebSphere Application Server path - point this to where you installed WebSpher
          ex: C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer
      b) Host Name - Point this to your OnDemand system
      c) Port number - I used the default since my box is using 1445
      d) Display name - key in anything you want
      e) all the rest I used the defaults
7) Bring up Internet Explorer and in the address key in
       a) \\Host Name:9080\wccommonservices\
       b) login to your OnDemand system

This was all on a Windows Test box. I would suggest you test it first since I could be totally wrong on something, but this worked for me for viewing line data.
