Send Option (File Menu) Grayed Out in WIN10/Outlook 365
« on: February 26, 2020, 08:24:16 AM »
Last year we moved to WIN10 and Office 365.
The Send Option is grayed out under the File menu on the thick client.

On our side we have tried both 32 and 64 bit clients and have default app settings to Outlook and MAPI is enabled.
We are using the most recent 10.1.0.5 client and we have tested against both 9.5.0.11 and 10.1.0.5 CMOD versions

We opened a case with IBM and after several months (they had to order Office365, etc.) they got back to us and stated that the Send option is grayed out for them as well.

IBM is sending to their development team but stated it might be a Microsoft issue.

Has anyone else run into this?  I find it hard to believe we are their first customer to use WIN10 and Outlook 365 but again according to IBM support it does not work for them either.

Here is the solution - https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/send-function-not-working-content-manager-ondemand-windows-client-64-bit-windows-machines

The technote is not very detailed, here are the details

The 2 registry entrees below need to be adjusted;

1. Go to  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows Messaging Subsystem

Make the following changes to the registry
Set the (DEFAULT) key to 1 instead of default
Set the MAPI key to 1 instead of 0

2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Messaging Subsystem

Make the following changes to the registry

Make the following changes to the registry
Set the (DEFAULT) key to 1 instead of default
Set the MAPI key to 1 instead of 0

After making those changes, the SEND button in both 32 and 64 bit CMOD clients will appear.
