Client Application Window is not Displaying
« on: February 19, 2021, 10:17:47 AM »
I have a situation where just a few Windows 10 64bit PCs are experiencing this issue with OnDemand Client v.10.1 64bit:
User selects the OnDemand Client icon and is presented the logon window BUT NO background application window.  They successfully logon and are presented their normal Folder selection window, still NO background application window.  So the user selects their Folder from the list and they see NOTHING, because the application window with the search criteria and hit list was never displayed.  The icon in the Windows tray at the bottom is there like the application is behaving normally.  All the user can do is close the application from the tray icon.
We have tried a repair install, but not yet a complete uninstall/reinstall.

Has anyone had a similar experience or know what is causing this behavior?

Thanks,

Joe

Are you on the 10.5.0.1 client?

Joe - if you're on CMOD server 9.5 or above please download the latest (10.5.0.1) client and test.

The 10.5.x.x client is fully tested and fully supported for servers back to 9.5.

I finally found that this issue had nothing to do with OnDemand Client.

Either the users or some other application had hidden the main application window from the visible desktop.  The fix was to use a Windows 10 key combination to redisplay the window.  I was able select Shift+Right click on the OnDemand icon on the tool tray then select Maximize from the Pop-up list.  This redisplayed the window which I could then resize.

Thanks,

Are they running the OnDemand Thick Clients on Citrix?  I've seen strange window-handling like this before with desktops spanning multiple monitors while using the CMOD Client on Citrix.
