move a part of a CMOD installation to another LPAR
« on: September 12, 2022, 06:37:50 AM »
hi

we run CMOD v.10.5 on z/OS.

A part of our company has been sold and now we need to find a way to unload all APG, AP, Folder etc and data that belong to that company as they need to get that with them to another installation.

We have no APG's that are shared between the 2 companies and I can use the name of the APG to identify if the APG belongs to company 1 or company 2. >It was maybe a long-shot - but I had an idea of just copying the whole DB2 complex - and then use the Administrator to delete the APG's and so on that should not be moved - but my DB2 system programmers have told me, that we have so much data in OAM that we are not able to do that.

Does any one have any idea of how you can 'split' an installation?    and I don't expect to get a final solution to implement - but more some ideas of what might be possible.

I have asked my System programmer on CMOD on z/OS - but he hadn't any ideas.

Any input is appreciated.

I am new to the Z/OS world but I think that an extract, reload, then unload when said reload is done - is the best way to do it.
