Migrating to z/OS 1.11 or z/OS 1.12?

Description: In z/OS V1R11, object access |method (OAM) introduces 2 GB object support for tape media as well |as archive retention enhancements. You must run the CBRSMR1B job to |perform the migration from the z/OS V1R10 version of the object storage |database to the z/OS V1R11 version. The job will add columns ODSTATF, |ODRETDT, and ODINSTID to the existing object directory tables. Even |if you do not take advantage of the new function added in this release, |if you use OAM object support you must run the CBRSMR1B job to add |the new columns to the tables.

I know this is late to the party, but there are still people migrating from old releases of z/OS.

Make sure you have this toleration/fallback APAR on OAM for z/OS 1.9 or 1.10:

****************************************************************
* USERS AFFECTED: OAM object support customers.                *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: APAR OA26334 provides coexistence       *
*                      support to allow systems at z/OS V1R9   *
*                      (HDZ1190) and above to coexist in an    *
*                      OAMplex with a z/OS V1R11 (HDZ1B10)     *
*                      level system. This APAR is required on  *
*                      the lower level systems to tolerate new *
*                      support introduced in z/OS V1R11, or    *
*                      for backout of the new function.        *
