Reclaiming File space on TSM disk
« on: February 01, 2011, 03:54:55 PM »
We have a situation where we are getting TSM backup errors and it appears that they are caused by DB2BKPPOOL thinking it is running out of space, but in reality it only contains a few files and has tons of space available.  Is there any way to do a reclaim or other function to compress this?

The db2 backup pool (DB2BKPPOOL) for dev uses a sequential file device type; the physical file is  /tsm/data00/00000005.BFS.  This file is about 25GB.   There are 2 backups and 3-4 logs archived; total space used is under 1 GB

Volume Name                            Storage         Device         Estimated       Pct      Volume
Pool Name       Class Name      Capacity      Util      Status
------------------------         -----------     ----------     ---------     -----     --------
/tsm/data00/00000005.BFS      DB2BKPPOOL      DATA00             5.1 T       0.0     Filling

Thanks,
