arspdoci taking unusually long time.
« on: February 19, 2013, 04:24:02 AM »
Hi

We are running arspdoci separately before we call arsload due to our project specific needs.
But I see that arspdoci takes long time to process files.
The files that we process have 15000 to 30000 accounts in them.

Does anyone have any idea/experience working with arspdoci?

Thanks
Pankaj.

arspdoci is known to be slow on non-Windows platforms.  A number of other CMOD sites have integrated a Windows indexing server into their solution for processing large volumes of PDFs.

Just for everyone's information.
The file that was last processed had 36000 plus accounts and 73000 plus pages.

arspdoci took approximately 8 hours.

Try running your load command from a windows PC and let us know how much faster it is.  :)

Hi JD

When you say "Run it on a windows PC", I should have a CMOD installation on the Windows Server too, correct?

Thanks
Pankaj.

You'll need the server software and PDF Indexer loaded onto your PC, but you don't need to configure a library or object server.  You just want the binaries, so that you can run arsload.
